highlords or cats eye?

i'm currently in the act of gathering bits for a new char, a bowazon.... most likely a pure strafer which uses an upped wws (got it for about 30pgems.... joy).
Today eldritch was nice and dropped a highlords for me when all i wanted was a cats eye.

I'm wondering which ammy is most useful for a wws zon? i'm thinking that maybe the ds on the highlords is overkill. Does the extra 25dex from the cats eye really add a significant amount of dmg?

Also can a wws zon deal with pi's relatively easy without any secondary skill? i'm thinking either invest in freezing arrow or lightning fury.

Finally i also found an eaglehorn.... when shaeled is it a good switch bow for high dmg or does it just suck?

Thanks in advance

with a WWS highlords is usually considered on overkill since the WWS adds +1 to deadly strike for every level ie if you are level 70 then you have a 70% chance to hit deadly strike. I personally would go for the cats eye and the ias. Also remember that for a bowie: dex = damage.

I wouldn't invest in a secondary skill. the WWS has level 20 magic arrows when fired normally. Plus, even if you hit a PI, most of the time the amp will remove the immunity (and amp damage triggers quite a bit.) Honestly I never needed a bow on switch for my witchyzon. Never used eaglehorn either, so I really can't comment. Now if you can get some IAS gloves with knockback you are golden.

I would say a cat's eye, but if all you got is a highlords, by all means use it. Don't trade highlord for a cat's eye, though.

I would say it depends on your other gear. If you have gore rider, then by all means try and get the cat's eye. List your gear here and I will be able to help you make a better choice. More deadly strike is by no means overkill for a WWS zon, since your damage relies on deadly strike and amplify damage, it's the only two factors (apart from attack speed) that make this build viable.

Personally I found WWS on its own rather incapable of dealing with PIs. I'm not patient enough to shoot MA in normal attack speed to kill PIs one by one, nor am I patient enough to starfe and wait for the 2% ctc amp dmg kicks in. LF is the best way to go for PI that's what I feel.

It's a good bow, I finished Hell with it before getting my WWS. But with an upped WWS u dont need a switch bow.

I would have to say Cat's Eye always just because I like my Zons to run fast. Both are equally good for Zons though. Doesn't matter.

My bowazon --- pure strafer with Windforce --- used Highlords for a simple reason: it provided the IAS I needed to get to the 120IAS breakpoint that I wanted to reach.

Depends on what you consider "easy". WWS is crap compared to a Windforce; I bought a near-perfect one and upped it to use it vs. PIs, but ditched it right away because of its horrible damage output. The Windforce with Lvl 1 magic arrow (+a few skills) was still somewhat faster. For most PIs the Decrepify from my merc might have helped at least a bit, although it does leave monsters at 90% physical resist in the best case.

That's just PIs, though. WWS lost big time vs. non-PIs --- it was easy to see when I forgot to switch back to the Windforce :-)

Don't forget that Magic Arrows are NOT used for strafing --- so using a weak bow like WWS vs. PIs to combine MA with strafe doesn't work.

It is possible to kill stuff with WWS, PI or not. Just don't expect to be fast.

As for using other skills vs. PIs: I don't know. I had this as an option in my build plan in case MA didn't work out, but the MA worked fine... and the season ended before I decided where to spend all those excess skillpoints :-)

Cat's eye also has 20% ias mod.

I think he ment Cat's eye for the FRW since they both have 20% IAS.
Cats eye adds about 25 to your average damage.

Highlords in conjunction with the WWS bumps your DS to over 100% which is double the listed damage 100% of the time.

I am not sure but I think Double damage 100% of the time deals more average damage over time than 25 to your average damage and DD only 70-90% of the time.

Another plus for Highlords is Lightning Resist. Black Souls complain and newbs go "wtf?" when I don't don't die while walking through WSK. Other players cheer when I clear their bodies.

I built my char for the WWS. The stat points you save in str go into dex. There is no way I could equip my WWS zon with a WF. If I were to build a WF Zon I would do the exact same thing you did and put points in MA for PI's or put some sort of Charged Immunity breaking weapon on switch.
