Help with installation and patch issue

if i ever do get back to playing, USEast SCCL is where i'll be, assuming that it means softcore ladder? I dont know what that other c stands for lol, im new to these forums.

alright, so my dad got home and we did the system refresh thing u were talking about, still no luck. Same error message, same problem locating the files that need to be deleted. God this is driving me nuts!!
D2 folder is back tho, if that changes anything.

But seriously, im nowhere near a pc expert but perhaps what you did messed with your registry and a tool like registry mechanic could help fix the problem. I think they have a free version, im not sure im allowed to post a link to their website here, so ill let you google it.

"Registry Mechanic uses a high-performance detection algorithm to quickly identify missing and invalid references in your Windows registry. These problems can occur for many reasons including being left-behind after the un-installation or incorrect removal of software, by missing or corrupt hardware drivers, or orphaned startup programs."
 
Just like to let everyone know that I have fixed the problem, and Diablo is up and running!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thx to all the people who provided tips, really appreciate that u guys took the time out to help me with this problem, and Blizzards technical support team, even tho they took like 3 days to return my email.

Awesome! What finally fixed it?
 
It was some error on my hardrive that i needed to fix, and now the funny thing is that after logging on last night and playing for about an hour, every time i start up the game i get some unhandled exception error message lol.
I emailed the guy from Blizzard back about this problem, and it should be fixed in about a day, as it seems to be a common problem, so no worries.
