Help With Choosing Assassin Build

My friend and I want to play on b.net. My friend wants to play an assassin. He needs some help with a build suggestion. He is looking for a build with high damage, survivabilty, with easy and straightforward use. It would be much appreciated if you could also give me a list of what other classes/builds work well with the build you recommend. Thanks in advance

Sounds like starting untwinked, so I'd say a trapper. They can clear pretty well, have a merc / shadow to tank, and cos + MB to help them out too. Once in hell, LI's hurt, so even FB can deal with them until DS can.

No, he has a blizzballer to MF, and he's not really looking to make a trapsin. He wants to rush in and get up close and personal with the monsters.

Well, you can certainly do that, but it's more gear dependent, naturally. When you said starting, I thought maybe with nothing. if you can MF, decent gear will come easily enough.


That said, a kick/trap works well. I know you said no to traps, but at the very least, max out DS. The explosion and radius is perfect for clearing mobs. A main attack like dtalon can deliver CB and works for boss runs.

My friend is going with a kicksin, but I proposed the idea of DS to him, so he might reconsider his choice. Thanks for the help

Well, both a kicker and trapper benefit heavily from DS, so it just goes to better when starting. Kickers can do that too, but needs some pretty good gear, especially untwinked vs bosses.
