HC Viking Tourney

Played Grimfeng a little more last night. I believe he's still at L21. I acquired the Viper amulet. What a beating! Those Vipers knocked me around like a steel bearing in a pinball game! I decided to go with a 2-socketed helm with some nice multi-propertied jewels with nice resistances. My lightning resist was nil. Lucky for me since the unique in the Viper temple was LE.

Then I decided to go paint some Blood Bowl minis.

On to the palace tonight possibly.

Well, I died. Lvl 22 on my way to getting the headpiece for the horadric staff. I probably could have gotten farther, but I got a bit careless. I'm going to be trying my luck at the random skills tourny now, so good luck to the rest of the vikings.
 
Haven't managed to fit in much playing time these last couple of days, but Nero has progressed a little to level 22, currently at the Halls of the Dead waypoint.
 
Grimfeng advanced a little more last night before my computer crashed. I don't know why. The CD drive is crap though. Made it to level 22 and my Two Weapon swing is level three with level 12 Bash. Kills about anything in 2-3 hits with my weapons. Killed the Summoner and started clearing the infestations in some of the Canyon Tombs. One close call sent me packing back to town with one hit point. Then I went back and had my revenge.
 
Nero is dead - I was fighting Fangskin and his buddies, and stupidly let them trap me in a corner. Ah well, good luck to all the surviving vikings. :)

Got a point in frenzy now but even at +186% damage it isnt killing as fast as double swing for now. needs more pts. No significant finds yet, just using a steel flail and a war hammer of gore.
 
Grimfeng is now Level 25 and is in lower Kurast. I found a Nagelring and Hawkmail. Though I'm not using the ring I did replace the 120 defense Splint I was wearing with the Hawkmail because of the "cannot be frozen" part. SOOOOOOOOO Good! Also, I'm using Cathan's Seal for the life leach. Also, found a Vidala's Snare. On my way to the Bazaar to find a heart.
 
Grimfeng is level 26 now and is at the WP in the City of the Damned (Is that the right name?). Like Tenaka, I now have a point in Frenzy, but I only use it to jumpstart my slvl5 double swing with slvl 15 Bash ED. Found an amulet that gives +1 to masteries, +5 STR and +10(?) DEX as well as some resistance, but I'm not sure it's better than the one I've been wearing since Act 1(?) +6 All Resist and +10 mana. What would you do? Also, found a Fanged Helm that gives +2 to Battle Orders so I've been switching it with my resist helm to cast BO. I can't wait to find a charm with LR so I can get rid of this one. Too bad I the new helm isn't socketed.

Well.. time has come to set Buliwyf's ship on fire (like vikings bury their kings).. He died due to an extra strong pack of ghosts in act 3 Flayer Dungeon :( I was lvl 27 (and a half), got lost in the jungle and were finally back on track. Well.. good luck to you who is standing.

It seems I skipped a bit of my tale. I got the heart easily enough and went on to dispatch with the Council. They were a bit of a beating. The Durance wasn't bad but the Vampires and other council members of the first wave gave me a big hurt too. Mephy wasn't too bad. The lightning hurt the most, because I don't have a high resistance. I then found Hell not too difficult. Once I beat down Diablo, I'll go make some Mephy runs for better equipment. I've some MF on an ammy and gloves I have in my stash to help out.

Well, here ends the tale of Grimfeng the barbarian. Not five minutes into the game session I leapt out of combat with some worms and died on impact.

Well the only thing that has stopped me from joining the ranks of the dead is that my computer crashed 4 times yesterday (twice during NDEs) Of course it also stopped me from making much progress...
