Have some questions for the strafe bowzon build

Ok I read chipmc guide and its one hell of a guide its just some questions i would like answered. I just returned to D2 its been 2years since i played it last so im new to the 1.10 patch. I know that the guided arrow is not the same no more so strafe will be my main attack. Since im starting from scratch with no rares or anything to look forward 2 im wondering will i have a hard time getting to hell mode with no bows to look forward 2. Also worried about my mana since i have no mana leech items im wondering are mana leech items are hard to find. From the guide i read here im gonna max strafe penetrate and valk the rest im not sure of.

For stats i was gonna go 2str 2dex 1vit but still worried about my energy. I want to play straight thru i dont want to get rushed i want the game to feel brand new 2 me so just wondering if anyone got any tips for me or can tell me whats some good spots to get bow rares and other good rares for bowzon. I forgot where certain rares drop. The strafe zon guide i read was from chipmc and it was based off the WWS bow i dont have this bow but i would like to know where to find it so i can hunt it down. Any tips you can give me on lving my new strafezon would be appriated thanks in advance:) and im glad im back in the D2 worlds. P.S should i go Ladder or Non Ladder im not 100% sure whats the difference i never went ladder when i played back then.

If your new like me its best not to make a bowazon, they are very item dependant especially the bow. My first char after coming back was a blizz sorc who i do Meph runs with. You need the items before you make the bowazon or youl end up being as effective as a chocolate kettle

If youd rather not MF another good thing to do id hoard flawless gems. A couple of trips around the first three areas in act one normal and you can up them all to perfects using gem shrines in no time. P Gems will buy you most things but you need a fair few. Check the Trade forums to get an idea of what you can get for your gems.

The main difference with Ladder is that you have a few crafting recipies, it also seems you can get alot more for your gems as they are needed for the crafting. Also you can upgrade a weapon to the next type, For example a unique exceptional bow will upgrade to become a elite bow with the same properties, thus upping the base damage or defence

I hope this has been of some help to you, Feel free to msg me if your on EU, my acc is *charsol. Il help out any way i can

completely agree!

A bowazon is really not the best char to start with - well you can ofc start with her but she will be poo.

I kind of agree as well, However, The items needed to make a very effective straif-zon are not particularly hard to get. a wws, decent armor, 15% ias jewels, shael runes, LoH gloves, decent boots etc. can mostly be found off of NM meph. It's definitly much better to make the sorc first and farm out the exact items you need. Once you have the items you can perfectly plan out the zon, maximizing her stat & skill point allocation for maximum effectiveness.

The other option would be to create a hybred java/bow zon. Using Lightening Fury to farm normal/NM cows to find the items needed to strenghten the bow side of the zon.

Thx for all the replys guys. Im lv 70now i ran into some people they gave me some stuff decent bow cliffkiller decent armor and such. Zons always been my fav thats why i wanted to continue her. I still gonna look for the equipment i want. Starting off with a sorc with nothing isnt that worst than a bowzon with no items and such?

no not at all

Some chars are skill intensive, and some are item intensive. A sorc is the former whilst a zon is the latter. So a sorc is much more playable naked.

No, not quite. While I agree that viable endgame stuff for a bowie is cheap, it is necessary to 1)get a decent bow (I think you're gonna want to trade up from that cliffkiller soon) and 2)get some leech (please don't put any points in energy. Please. For me.) A meteorb sorc (as well as some other sorc builds) can, through perserverance and a few untimely deaths, reach high levels basically naked, although I wouldn't want to tackle alot of areas in hell unpartied without a decent merc, which requires some equip.

Now, want a really equipment dependant build? Trying a sword/shield whirlybarb. But that is a post for a different forum.....

Or a PvP.....
well, anything. Coming straight from a PvM guy, check out the guides. Enigma. BotD. HoTO. SoJ. Beast. Not a realm for the poor, or middle class, or moderately wealthy. I would consider myself between the last two (on the ladder.) Hence, PvM only.

your mail box is full (it needs some deleting as you can only have 5)

so here is my reply:

"Search the sorc forums :D

there are many many threads on Blizzard sorcs (best for mephi and andariel and pindle)

or you could make a meteorb sorc - a little better all round, but not as fast as blizz at the above runs.

have a long read and see which u like the sound of best - i personally prefer Blizzard sorcs :D"
