Hammerdin Question- Gear?

So I've been running theoretical experiments on my PvP hammerdin's setup, looking
for max life with maxed res and block.

I think I've found a solution:

2/20/1 Rare Circlet with Life, Mana, socketed with 8 Dex/7 FHR Jewel
Ammy: 2Pally/30 Str/15 Dex/16 All Res
Hoto
Spirit
Dungo's
Trangs
FCR/Dex Ring
Ravenfrost
Torch/Anni/Rest 20lifers

So: FCR = 20+40+35+20+10 = 125
FHR: 7+55+20+5 (Charm) = 87

Now: My spirit is in a royal shield, meaning 55% CtB. Assuming I finish the character at level 90, I would need 167 Dexterity for maxed block.

Dexterity: 8 (circ) + 10 (Hoto) + 15 Dex (Ammy) + 35 (Rings) + 36 (Anni + Torch) + 20 (base) = 124

I would need 43 dexterity, either from charms or from actual points, to hit max block.

Let me know if you see any areas in which I can improve my gear.

You are missing a lot of damage reduction for a pvp hammerdin. You may want to mess with your gear set up again and try to incorporate a stormshield for the godly DR. To make up for some fcr and resists consider a wizzy. Also, perhaps a arach to get some fcr back and a shako for the life/bo bonus and DR.

With my setup above, I have 23 DR.

If I were to switch to ber shako, I would need to drop dungo's, and would gain 3 DR total.

I don't think that I can use SS in this setup, b/c Spirit is just too good. Mana, FCR, FHR, Res are unbeatable on a shield.

Would shako/Arach beat 2/20/Dex Jewel and 38/15 Dungo?

Basically, would 1 Skill and 140 Life/Mana, and +3 DR beat ~47 Vit? I think it would, therefore you're right.

Unless: I used a 2/10 amulet and a FCR/Dex Ring, meaning I could use shako and Dungo. Would that be the best idea?

I'd stick with the standard pvp hammerdin setup.

Coa with ber and -15/15@ jewel

Enigma in an armor that you can wear with base str
trang gloves
2x bk rings, 1 fcr ring when using hoto
arach
spirit st 35 fcr
waterwalks

Enough palacombats to hit ~10k damage with wizzy, max 4. Fill rest of invi with 20 life / mods scs.

This grants you deeply stacked resists, ~10k damage, max blocks, 31 dr in all around setup, 125 fcr in both setups, 86 fhr with one 5 fhr sc, 4.7k+ life.

If you can afford some sick 10 fcr/ 40 life / 15 dex fcr rings, you can ditch arach and use verdungo, will result in even higher life and dr.

Imo its superior to your setup in many ways, alot more resists, more dr, higher level bo resulting possible in higher life too.

This seems to hit my goals of: Nice (36) DR, Maxed Res/Block(with a little help from charms), and high life. I switch to shako/hoto for BO.

Looks good.

2 soc coa > 1 soc coa ofcourse. I went with 15@ / 9 str jewel in my wizzy, wasnt able to wear coa with base str.

Opinion that is based on facts: The dungos does not have to be arach.

If you can afford nice fcr rings (fcr, dex, life) and pala combat sks with life, dungo setup will come out with same damage, more dr and more life. It's superior to arach setup in many ways.

Regnar, you would be right if I needed the 20 FCR from arach to hit the last breakpoint.

With my setup (dual 10FCR rings), I don't in fact need the arach, meaning I can sacrifice +1 skills (contributing to meaningless damage, b/c I have 10k) for, in my case, 38 vitality and 15% DR.

Some numbers:

arach, 2x bk rings setup: +3 skills, 100 non bo able life, 20 fcr, 9x 20 life scs = 180 bo able life.

verdungo, 2x 10 fcr / 15 dex / 40 life rings: 80 boable life from rings, 90 boable life from the dex you saved, 120 non boable life from verdungo, 15% dr, 3x 40 life pcs = 120 bo able life and +3 palacombat sks and 20 fcr.

Conclusion:

With level 20 bo first setup grants you 445 life, +3 skills, 20 fcr.

2nd setup with 17 level bo: 650 life, +3 pc skills, 20 fcr and 15% dr.

Like said, verdungo setup is superior to arach setup, if you can afford nice rings and palacombats with life.

Question: If I can hit 10k hammers without pcomb skillers, would I be better off stacking 20lifers?

where's the resist stack and absorb?
a good hammerdin can cover all grounds on the battlefield
face all the foes without changing gear =)

I can change my belt to tgods/snowclash, or change a ring to ravenfrost. Also, hotspurs in stash =)

As for res stack, my inventory is full of 17-19/5 SCs, so my total res to each is around 300.
