Hal's 1.10 Conc Build Guide (Updated Edition)

babababa

yeah, its headstriker or something like that, its based on character lvl.
btw what is the difference between crtical and deadly strike???

I've just beaten nightmare but am having a hard time in Hell. My Aldur's Rhythm isn't doing a whole lot of damage. Where are good places to find nice gear drops?

::in order of my preference with my conc baba::
Hell (Act1-Assuming you can kill at a bearable pace): The Pit (Tamoe Highlands), Countess (boss packs on the way to her), The Mausoleum (Burial Grounds).
NM: Council, Baal, Meph, Countess (runes), Cows (charms/runes)

Hell runs would have first priority, but go with nm if killing early in hell is too slow.

Static or Crushin Blow...

am usin conc baba for mf as i previously said...

in order to kill faster ... im wonderin what is better between Static from Crscent Moon or 33% Crushi blow from Kingsalyer (which also gives ar, 10% more ias and a bit highr dmg)...

33 from kingslayer + 15 frm goreriders = 48% CB which is more then 20% static... so tell me what u think i m a bit lost :hanky: :grrr:

Like Art said, a cresent moon weapon would help a lot. You could try making it in a balrog blade; that should speed things up a good deal. Also, as for your second question, I would personally think CM would be better, since Static can affect multiple enemies at once, and it's really cheap to make. It works great on bosses as well (crushing blow is nerfed a good deal against them).

theseus:

There is no difference in the way they work - they both give double damage, though if one triggers, the other can't. Critical Strike can only be provided by skills like the amazon Critical Strike and barbarian/assasin Masteries, while Deadly Strike comes from items.

My thanks to everyone who covered my *** by answering questions yesterday; had a lot of flash work to do, so God bless guys ;)

Love the guide for it should i get any in WW or does it suck in 1.10 also whats better a BotD colossus blade or something else??

I don't typically recommend whirlwind for the build, as it's not as buff as it used to be, and it requires a pretty intense set-up to work properly, though you can certainly give it a go. I usually advise one either go with Bash, Berserk, or Ironskin however, as they typically just add more to the template.

One-handed, a BotD Berserker axe is the best weapon you can get, while two-handed, a polearm, spear, or tmaul is typically the best. Swords arn't the top in either category, the only thing they really have in their favor is that you can switch between one- and two-hands as you desire. I'm more fond of the berserker axe/shield method myself though.

Aside from the fact that it doesn't look like a plastic toy unlike the almighty Zerk Axe :)

A CB ISNT that bad...it's not the top, but it's amongst the top if not the 2nd best with the bonus of versatility from 1h/2h and looks.

certainly I'd rather enjoy the irony of killing quickly with a plastic toy to looking like a beast with a giant ethereal sword.

effectiveness vs. vanity, i choose effectiveness.

I intended that jokingly to Hal, but if you want to be a dickhead about it then ok :)

No offense, but you need to either know what the hell you're talking about or learn to word better because you don't kill so much more vastly than that beast of a sword in the first place. Your weapon is better, but I suppose the 2nd best 1h weapon for BOTD just isn't effective enough to cut it? Get a clue.

Effectiveness vs Vanity....I'll take my sword and get both plz.

I could make the arguement that I like the versatility of the swords 1h/2h options(granted you get used to it, this is soooo helpful in FFA)....or that in real life I've just always liked swords as weapons in general. I suppose I'm to busy being vain aren't I dickhead?

LOL...very poorly said.

Careful with the language Varg; I'm sure he didn't say it to be offensive to you, and I laughed and supported him just because I thought it was a good response to the typical complaint about using berserker axes because of their looks. I understood that you meant it jokingly at me, of course ;)

My first conc barb used a CB.... my new one will use axes. Swords are great for their versatility: you can use all swords one-handed, and you can even choose to go two handed, or dual wield if needed. Plus, making the final blows with Alibaba's is a lot easier with 20 sword mastery then with 20 axe mastery I would think ;). Anyway, now it's time to give the BA a try.

My apologies, but if one more person tells me how much of a nub I am for not making a BA I'm gonna puke :/

Understandable man, no worries ;) *pats Varg on back*

First of all, nice guide, very well written

Now for my question: I recently acquired full IK set, and as said before it will work fine with your (very good) build. BUT it also says using multiple ways of getting more AR, and so far I only noticed the angelic amu+rings. OK, the set gives something like +200 with 5 items, but that wont get me high enough i suppose. Here's another complication: I hate being frozen, the "halves frozen duration" from IK isn't enough for me, so I'll be using a raven(which has dex and AR, but a lot less then one more angelic ring i suppose, haven't tested it yet). It's kinda hard to believe I'll be hitting 6-10k AR with dex hardly any higher than base. I'll be PvM 99% of the time, but I also duel for fun with some friends (and sometimes the friendly duels @ EtF) so high AR is a must (it's not because it's FD that I don't wanna win :D). So, a question that has perhaps been asked to much (but I still need to know the answer) : How should I get more AR ? I'm not really a barb expert, my 2 1.10 barbs so far were a singer and a frenzyer (and they weren't very effective tbh), so excuse me if the answer should be obvious, oh Great and Almighty Halciet :worship:

Alright, let's see here, methods for getting AR. Well, one angelic ring and the ammy adds around 6.5k ar to my 99er, while two rings and the ammy adds right around 13k, so that is always the best option. Other items like metalgrid and raven also add a good deal as well, if you find yourself severely lacking.

Charms would be your next best choice, as you can get fine/vitas with 20 each on them, so a stacked out inventory of 39 (leaving room for annihi) fine charms can add an extra 780 base to be multiplied by your skills; you can always use grands as wel, as they can break 100 each. And of course annihilus can add up to 80 base on a perfect roll.

The enchant charges on Demon Limb are likewise very nice; the amount it helps varies, but in my cast, casting the enchant and switching back to my original weapon added around 4k ar.

Finally, that point in battle cry goes a long way, halving enemy defense. It doesn't have as much of an effect in pvp, but it'll still gain you a few %. I typically don't suggest melee dueling in the IK suit though, as without a shield, you're not going to be very effective.
