~ Greek Mytholody God Tournament ~

hephaistas, circe (not on list), hades, zeus, artemis....

Circe is not a god, she is merely a sorceress.

But there are some gods I forgot in the list (I was the guy who originally wrote it in another thread):

Hermes: A god of travel, communication, commerce and thievery.
(Hmm, perhaps a Charger, or Leaper).

Nike: A godess of victory.
(Almost too generic, any class could potentially fit as long as they are female, besides she is a lesser godess).

Demeter: A godess of grain and agriculture.
(I don't know what class would fit. She has a rather non-violent portfolio).

Hercules: A half-god of strength and bravery.
(Obviously some sort of barbarian. Perhaps a max-strength build, must wield a club).

weren't "magical human beings" considered a god / demigod in greek mythology?

I kinda misused the word 'magical' here, sorry. I ment she could do magic/magic trics and she knew how to use herbs and stuff. It might have been something a God or Goddess bestowed on her, but that doesn't make her a Goddess as well. And it was rather that the Gods and Goddesses were attributed with human characteristics than that human beings became or were considered gods.

She might have been a demi-Goddess tho, don't know anything of her parentage. Anyway, in that case, if Hercules can't be chosen to play, cause he's only a demi-god, can Circe?

How about Poseidon? Don't know what kind of char he could be tho...

I think he is in the list.

The problem is that Diablo2 doesn't really have any water-related skills, and Poseidon's portfolio mostly has to do with the ocean and other moving bodies of water.

The only thing I can think of is that he will be using a trident.

@Bradley_Turner- i definitely agree with that and it sounds really cool!

i htink jezz said only like 4-5 people have signed up bu ti think that it is still gunna be fun and i am up for whatever i personalize to give up to the greatest god!

I just find the rules too restrictive. I wanted to make a char, but none that I found got any appeal to me. If only we could use other-than-Greek pantheons, the fun would be greater.

Therefore, I am afraid I pass.

Good luck to you seekers of the mastery of Olympus

This tournament looks very nice , but all the "best" classes are out. Others off course are playable (and interesting) , but probably won't stand a chance vs. other Gods , like bowazon.

And like ricrestoni said , if more than greek gods would be allowed , i'd be surely in

you know, that front page list isnt all of the greek gods, right? theres like 200 or something like that, try www.pantheon.org somewhere in there you can find all you ever wanted to know about gods, and a little bit more

i dont know why KOOL69 put them in.. but it is ONLY the greek gods
*sigh*

If I were to choose among all gods, I would pick Manwe, Greatest of the Valar, lord of skies and winds, master of all things that fly, and most beloved by the elves (well, maybe less than Elbereth, his wife, mistress of the stars).

Tolkien rules!

Hey i got a great idea for a god charecter.....
A Paladin using fists of heaven, this would be a Zeus Charecter
(I dont have enough time so I am not entering, but people can feel free to use this idea)

Druids have a few storm based spells that could be used as Poseidon. Definitly Hurricane and maybe others depending on how strict you want to be.

And yes everyone Zeus the throwing tesladin is taken

so, sticky fingers, are you gonna play in it?

ahh.. so many posts.

well.. so circe isnt a god... DANG (lol), i thought an enchantess with a wand would be a great idea.. oh well.. il think of something, as you know its not about wining, but haveing a fun and great build.

i think u will play a hammerdin, trapsin or ww barb? also i am in the tourney with my bowazon. have fun with ur chars and remember dont start yet!

It was very quiet last night in the shop where i work so i opened up a few books we had standing somewhere
I only wrote down some gods of which character ideas might spring to mind to me or someone else, there were of course many others but i wouldn't know what character to make for the god of walnuts or something...

Aelos: a minor deity of winds
Agrobera: a different name for Artemis (would this allow for a dupe of him?)
Apate: goddes of deceit
Aristaeus: deity of the hunt, cattle, agriculture
Astrea: goddes of justice
Astraeus: the god of the four winds, also gods themselves (Boreas, northern wind. Eurus, eastern wind. Notus, southern wind. Zephyrus, western wind)
Athena: wisdom, war, art etc (didn't remember if she was in list on page 1)
Britomartis: goddes of mountains and hunting
Cottyto: goddes of debouchery and immodesty (suitable for an ama that ..eer ... nevermind :teeth:
Dike: goddes of justice
Dione: feminine form of zeus (some say seperate deity most say they are one and the same, would this allow for a lightning sorc?)
Enyalius: spartan god of war, much alike to Ares
Enyo: goddes of war, waster of cities
Eris: goddes of discord and strife
Hestia: goddes of the hearth fire and domestic life
Nemesis: goddes of divine justice and vangeance
Paean: god of healing
Pan: god of shepherds and flocks
Uranus: god of the heavens and the sky
Zibelthiurdos: a thracian god of storms etc

I realize that a lot of them are only suitable when we are allowed to cross sexes, i didn't yet read weather that was allowed or not. but it may make for a few new character ideas for eventual participants
