Welcome to the second best day of the week (I'm partial to Saturdays)

No D2 the last couple of days. Our company x-mas party was last night and it was about as much fun as I've had at one of thsoe. Hand rolled cigars in a smoking room and Texas Hold-em with funny-money highlighted the night. Now if only I could get some sleep.

Wohoo, friday!

I'm just happy that school's over... hehe. Hm, nothing much to say, I will make a LAN with my friends tomorrow evening and learn for tests in the next week... (-.-)

D2 wise I am planning my convictor to death, because we will probably start our highlvl quest this evening. Also, I will try to pat my frenzytaur. He just needs the anya quest and then... THE ANCIENTS!! BADBABDAD BAM! I have never faced the ancients with a melee fighter. Any tips? With casters the basic technique is "run-cast-run-cast...", but with melee? I heard that loading up some CB is nice. What else? :scratch:

Got some homework done, and also got some MF in. Meph coughed up trang's armor, tal's mask, hawain's helm, demon limb, rockstopper, etc. That was about 15 to 20 runs, so I think I did pretty good. =)

3 weeks of homework due by sunday. :lol:

TGIF no doubt. Last day of classes for me. Only have to write up the finals, and grade the puppies. I'll probably start up a new character this weekend, but haven't really decided what to do. I've still got a wish list of some half-dozen or so items, and can probably best pick them up playing a character from scratch. I've been questing for a dang X- jewel of ease (where X is some really nifty prefix) for some time now... dang thing wont drop. Haven't done a barb yet... nor a druid. Probably take one of those two. I don't have much in the way of equipment for either though.

Anyway... happy Friday everyone.

Just got home from the pub myself. Wonderful fridays. No d2 yet on my part but some drunke pindleruns might come up later tonight.

Just got PowerOfBone (untwinked hardcore summoner/bone necro, for those not paying attention ) to Lower Kurast in Normal--he's level 29 and has just got his fifth skeleton. Still no near-death experiences to report--I've had a couple of Fetishes run up and give me a love tap or two, but with a 60-point Bone Armour between me and them it doesn't worry me overmuch. Also found the runes and a 2-socketed armour in LK, so I'm now sporting a Stealth splint mail--should improve things a little!

I'm debating whether to run Meph a few times once I get to him. I could do with some nice stuff (this being my first hardcore character, so I'm starting from scratch), but normal Meph can't drop Ume's Lament or Gravenspine, which would be the ones I'm REALLY interested in getting.

[EDIT] @ Reborn2K: first principle of taking on the Ancients with a melee character is to TP the heck out if any of them spawn FE. You don't want to be at melee range of an FE Ancient in any difficulty. Other than that I can't offer much assistance because I'm not fond of melee characters...

Today I managed to bypass work to take care of my dad. Then i took a look at all my chars - too many unfinished businesses...ess... - and look at all those level 1 barbs! So I got Chupacabra, my fury druid, and finished NM with him.

What to say, I am a druid man! He is level 67 now, ready to face Hell! Level up my buttocks!

Tonight, pool night, but got to meet some friends now to have a quick beer.

Reborn - CB is almost essential, as is PDR (% damage reduction, found on stuff like Vampire Gaze, Shaftstop, Rockstopper, String of Ears, etc.). I've never tried a melee char against the 1.10 Ancients, but in 1.09 my Pally made quick work of them with Guillaume's Face and Goblin Toe for CB, and String of Ears for PDR, while my Merc was able to stay alive with a Shaftstop (Tal's Mask and a Kelpie were a nice addition, too). Also, being able to keep your merc alive for a while is a very good thing. If you have the means, give him something with good leech, CB, and PDR as well, because you'll have a lot better chance of surviving the Ancients if they have more than one thing to shoot at. A belt of full purples goes without saying, I'm sure.

Anyway, D2 wise, just more NM Meph runs for me, and this time no Eth Titan's to admire. Still waitin' for those War Travelers and I'm not leaving until the sonovagun leaves 'em for me. :cheesy:

@ Wolfgang Abenteurer and factotum: Thanks, they are already dead! :drool: After checking for no FE, it's basically just the same as with a caster: "run-hit-run-hit-hit-run-run-run-hit..." ... They were no problem at all, also because my merc is an uber tank with BO, but just as I enter the WSK, a reanimated horde boss pack kills me in seconds. Go figure... :lol:

Sorry, but I got completely the wrong idea there when you said your merc was an uber tank with BO--guess it'd be ONE way to keep the Ancients away, though!
