My favorite summon? Lives in a dark and eerie place, one so unholy that even the bravest of warriors dare not enter it, for the inhabitant might devour them!

...My boxershorts

Uh, i meant.. Ravens :)

Valkerie, all the way. Bears are nice, but most druids are too invested in other skill trees to get more than one point in griz. Valk is a standard for nearly every Zon.

crg

Shadow Warrior is mysteriously missing as far as I can see. I love having a summon on remote control, that way she uses what I want her to use. I probably prefe her to Shadow Master.

well if you are talking any character clay golem is the best.

if you're talking assassins by far shadow warrior or master
if you're talking amazon valk is the best

nothing else is worth mentioning by themselves valk, shadow, claygolem only need 17 points to be effective in Hell. other summons like Bear could be used but they would require more skill points.

valk

I can't say nothing about shadow warrior / master as I have not played an assa so far.

CG is a very helpful tool to support the skels on the fishymancer, I have not played another necro so far, so I don't know what they will be like when they get more skill points than 1.

skeletons rock since 1.10 although they are not a "must have" on any necro like the valk is on almost any ama. - and that's why my vote goes to the valk.

Definitely Valkyrie. She's practically indestructible once valk and decoy are maxed, and she deals mad damage. Far better tank than any merc IMO. I'd like to have her with all my characters.

No argument on the Valk in general. I think the Shadow Master was a much better summon in 1.09 - the AI was noticably borked in the newest patch.

But I enjoy playing caster/hunter druids, and maxed Dire Wolves are an underrated force, even in hell. Far better than the grizzly (except against act bosses).

do i want to know what borked is?

my favourites are dire wolves, grizzly and carrion vine. anyone see a common theme. dire wolves for hunter druids. grizzlies for pure casters or shifters. carrion vine for everyone as its awesome.

my fav necro one would be fire golem. they r teh pwn.

Go ravens! Go ravens!
Sounds like a cheerleader a bit there, but ravens, despite being more useless than a elastic ruler, they get style points for pecking the monsters to death. slowly.

Aside from her desire to cast traps seemingly at random, my SM was quite intelligent really - she seemed quite keen to charge into battle and hold stuff back whilst I lobbed sharp things at them. Maybe her actions depend on yours to some extent *shrugs*.

My favourite summon... hmm. I'm rather fond of most summons actually, but there are a few that stand out in my mind:

- Dire Wolves and Grizzlies. Between them they make up an elite attack team - you can use Dire Wolves to befuddle opponents with multiple targets (as well as their damage-dealing), whilst the Grizzly just smacks stuff, hard.

- Valkyrie and Shadow Master. Summons with equipment - what more can you say really?

- Clay Golem. If you ever need something to stand around and get hit, this is probably it.

- Ravens. Wark! *peck*

I can't really pick one out of the list as I like most or all of them to some extent (even if Ravens are primarily comedy value... although they are handy for causing things to get stuck blocking). But those few up there are among my favourites.

I have to vote Valk, especially since I've been playing my tankazon a lot lately.

Level 35 Valk + 20 pts in Decoy = Indestructible. I've never seen her die; heck, I've never seen her take health bar any color but green.

The Valk is probably the most powerful single summon in the game. Meaning, skellies are multiple but they can do some nice damage. Ravens are also multiple. I have not used the shadow master in 1.10 yet. My sin is not at lvl 30 yet. So, perhaps I will have to change my mind soon!

Skeleton Mages all the way. Usefulness be damned, its style that counts people! Scary looking men all in matching uniforms, swirling rainbowlific colors all about while occasionally even hurting things with no specific plan. You gotta love it.

That is a very valid point. I used to keep them around just for the fun of it. They do tend to stay out of harms way, although, I would suddenly notice that I have only one left. I always wondered where they go, or what takes them out. I simply used tham as a distraction to keep the mean guys away from me.

Iron Golem. Simply for intrest points. What other summon takes properties from an item? It's just so intresting the vareity of diffrent Golem's you could make from Rare Items.
