Fanat vs Smite

Hello peoples!

I originaly put together a v/t some time ago when I was curious about the many pally builds.

I am now remaking a v/t in an effort to produce a sound character for dueling.

I have read the information regarding the tradeoff between holyShock and conviction. I did not however find anything with regard to the trade off between fanat and smite. Could someone provide some insight into this for me.

Well just from a damage point of view for every point you put into smite beyond the first you gain 15% ed and with every point beyond the first of fana you get 17% ed. So in raw damage fana is better and it also increase you attack speed and ar as oppose to just increasing your stun length of smite in addition to the ed. So if you are going to use smite and fana together then putting points into fana is the better than putting points into smite.

I will just max fanat for now and leave smite with the 6 pts I already invested in it.

I want to be more focused on v than t.

With conviction at 25 with gear on, how much damage do you think I should be doing with FOH to convince someone to change out their gear to deal with the elemental attack? :scratch:

My v/t will be done at level 95 but as is with base levels of 7 holy shock and 7 foh. With the 10 to all skills I am doing like 1k damage. Witch isnt all that bad. I on the other hand maxed out fant smite and holy shield with my gris shield as my smiting shield I do like 1k-2k damage. When there is a hammerdin in my team I am doing even more damage in the 1700-3077 well around and about.

I would think you need a FoH of about 4k to really get someone to think twice about not using a 4 ort shield or something which shouldnt be too much if you are using a lot +skill items.
