Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Seeing how intrinsic is smashing things for Hulk, I guess it is a mindless reflexive act, therefore being perfectly commanded by the spinal part of his central nervous system, leaving the brain for more process-demanding activities, such as speaking "Hulk smashes".

Also, a power that is able to neutralize Dr. Banner's well-developed intellect is for sure not a walk in the park for Xavier to gain control. Gamma rays can do quite a damage in brainwave form!

So, adding his ability to keep rage and bruise frenzy even with his brain nullified, added to a difficult mind to mess with, would gain some seconds for the monstrosity to throw Xavier and the whole school into the sun.

QED

Guiness now, please! Thanks! :drink:

@ ric you miss my point. I am not talking like cognitive thought mind, I am talking like the ability to send messages to the rest of your body. Huge green muscles are great, and the Hulk kicks A, but if he cannot move AT ALL, he cannot whoop anyone

@ corax. You make good points, what about Carnage though. All the power of Venom in a homicidal maniac. Same arguemnt on Hulk goes for Rogue.

A really good possibility for best bad guy, now that I remember him, is the Shadow King. He took over like half of the X-Men's minds and used them to nearly kill Prof X.

hulk is a pansy. nuff said. the thing would pwn him good.

carnage never really took off for me. fair enough he was an eviller redder venom and could morph his limbs into axes and stuff but i just never really liked how he looked like a skinny little nerd.

i dont think ive ever heard of the shadowking. never been a HUGE fan of comics as such. Logan from the x-men where they went into the future was cool.

@ricrestoni:
so what your saying is the hulk is rather like a chicken? with the whole lop off his head and he'll keep on coming. i never bothered to see that movie. cant wait till fantastic four however. it'll probably be awful but i hope it isnt

Hi everyone. I'll have to have a coke, seeing as the medication I'm currently on forbids me from drinking alcohol.

Unfortunately I broke my arm playing baseball on Sunday. It was a serious fracture, and I had to have an operation to put some screws and a plate in to get my arm back together. As a result, I'm a little limited in what I can do at the moment (an on a number of prescribed drugs to reduce pain & swelling & such.

I'm otherwise OK, so I'll just take my drink and sit back quietly in a corner over there and keep an eye on things. Typing is a bit slow and I can't really play D2, so I don't expect to post too much over the next few weeks - I may just lurk a bit though. You can all have your next drink here on me, except Barren, who I saw was spamming in this thread!

Sorry to hear about your arm. How did it happen? One of the players on my sons team, a few years ago, slide into third and his arm snapped. He recovered and played again the next year. Hope it turns out well for you.

*quickly orders a drink to bump the EMB back to where it belongs...*

Weekend, sooo nice... *radiant smile*

Good luck with your arm Mage, hope it will mend soon and well. :)

Radiance felt.

Dammit, im quite drunk alreday and i havent really been in the bar much. I just read the "need help finding character editor thread" and it just makes me want to hurt something, or someone. Why why why? I want to kill the guy who made that thread. If he was here in this room with me, id just like to....

Anyway, im going to stop there. It just irritates me to the core.

Seriously, isn't it interesting how there seems to be a new, SP is just for testing every week or two?

*grumbles and goes to throw some darts*

Thor is the most powerful, especially now that Odin has died and he has inherited the Odinforce. I don't see Xavier's mutant mental powers overcoming divinity. Plus, if the Hulk charged him, Thor could just whip up a little magic portal, and send him ANYWHERE, on any dimensional plane. Bye bye, Hulk.

Thor, now there is a real contender. Only thing is that "gods" in the comics don't actually have "omnipotent" power. If they did then there would have been no need for the rest of the Avengers to be there when Thor was on the team.

However, Thor is a really good choice. I would still stand behind Prof. X, but Thor is a really powerful hero. How do you think Thor stacks against any Eternal?

Thor with the Odinforce? Could go either way. I'd have to give the nod to Thor, if only because he can also command the Destroyer, which simply can't be stopped. Thor pre-Odinforce could probably be taken down by an Eternal.

Although, the pre-Odin Thor took down Thanos in single combat, which is pretty blasted impressive in my book. More than the Silver Surfer could do. I'd also submit Thanos as an entry for most powerful villain. Anyone who's tried to wipe out all of existence as many times as he has, and who has come as close, should be in the running. Remember the Infinity Gauntlet? Ultimate power over literally EVERYTHING, including taking down Eternity and Infinity as the manifestations of reality. Literally the only thing that could take him down ultimately was himself.

How do you think the D2 characters would match up to the comic hero guys?

I reckon:

Barb - Ik barb would wipe the floor with them, esp the hulk and people
Ama - Would be good aginst flying guys, like the silver surfer, or spiderman
Sorce - Would pwn everyone with FO
Paladin - Would be able to just keep beating up big guys, till they died
Necromancer - A fishymancer would be cool against all those guys, all the skelies would look great!
As$ and Druid - Never played one, so i cant really comment.

What do you guys think?

And who would be good and evil?

Necro would obviously be evil...or maybe not?

Barb: Wouldn't last two minutes against the Thing, the Hulk, Wolverine, Colossus, Thor, and many other melee type Comic chars.

Amazon: I have to disagree. First, if the Silver Surfer can survive interstellar travel (on a surfboard no less) being the emissary of a massive being who eats worlds, I think he can handle a couple arrows.

Sorc: Her Frozen Orb wouldn't even compare to Storm's abilities, not to mention that Ice Man would be completely unaffected.

Pal: He would also get his butt kicked (same as Barb)

To sum up. None of these characters would last in the world of Marvel. IMHO

afternoon guys,

anyone here a terry pratchett reader? currently im reading the rincewind trilogy. pretty good so far

I love Terry Pratchett. I don't know how many of his books I've read, but it's lots, and quite close to all, I think.

He has a great sense of humour, and manages to bring it all together in enjoyable stories that you just want to keep reading.

Do try as many as you can of his Discworld series - they're great.

Just finished Good Omens (is that the original name? 'twas a translated version), great book! Pratchett and Neil Gaiman joined themselves to make that hilarious story about the end of the world. Got to read those Discworlds some day.

Keep, a beer to end the night!

Rincewind Trilogy?

i have read 80% of Terry Pratchett, but haven't been keeping up so well lately...

which is your favourite? i love 'Eric' and the one with all the geriatric barbarians (i forget the name)

:) matt
