Who you calling a nerd!?

you. if you try to argue, just think about where you are. in an imaginary bar on a forum dedicated to playing a game by yourself.personally i think thats rather nerdy. all we need is for ricrestoni to come in and set up his RPG night in the corner

has anybody seen amalthea. i think the mountains of ''books'' out the back must of squished her into a nasty goo

I don't think I've ever posted in one of these bar threads, I always assumed it was just useless spam cluttering up the board. I was right, and this will be my only/final contribution to threads of this nature

thats your opinion. I dont see anything wrong with ''barspam'' threads. I've learnt alot about the people here and it makes it far more interesting dealing with them in other threads. like i know sledge is from melbourne. kaysaar lives 1000 miles away from his girlfriend and knows spanish and is learning arabic and enjoys ancient history.
also posting in these threads goes down when there are intro/quetion threads and mostly get posted in when the forum is slow.

but if you dont want to post in them thats your choice. :buddies: drink on!

Anyone seen Darkwell lately?
Haven't heard from him in a while and i'm a bit worried about him...
Don't have to be worried... he's still here (and there). I'll tell him to visit the EMB and to say hi to you.

:buddies:

I hate to revert to a merely semantical argument, but what you describe is a geek. As an uber geek I must defend my territory. Computer games, RPG, comic books, Star Wars. These are the realms of the geek. Nerds are more glasses and advanced Math. (these realms can cross at times, I am sure there are some geeky nerds, or nerdy geeks here).

One of my fondest geek memories is working at Scout camp one summer and having a bunch of people leave the table because me and a buddy started arguing over who was the most powerful comic book hero/villain. (we were limiting it to Marvel)

Good times. Embrace your geekiness.

Do you guys just serve some plain ice-water. I don't drink.

Sorry, you can't get anything without alcohol in here. Even the coffee has a little [insert random booze] in it

I'm still here darlin' and I'll try to visit more often. I'll pm you soon.

Keep, a beer. Make it 2.

Corax, so you asked:

*materializes RPG corner*
*summons Shadow Master*

Now you have a 24/7 game master for your enjoyment!

The adventure today is about an ancient relic. The heroes must get it before Mephisto do. Legend says it enables the possessor to raise the largest army of Stygian Dolls ever imagined. The problem is that it is in a secret temple, into the depths of the Flayer Jungle, guarded by the holiest of the flayer shamans. Where is it, and what is it, exactly? Maybe Ormus knows more, and who knows if he can cast a locating spell to help you?

Hey, Gabriel, then I am a geek and didn't know it! And, of course, Hulk wins, period. And you can find a soft drink lounge just turning right over there, after the waypoint. Some kids around, you know!

And if the squid eats this post again, I will get really angry!

hmmmmm. i think then i would be a nerdy geek. as my geekiness is stronger than my nerdiness( i has no glasses) so therefore nerdy would be the prefix, no?

Venom. Venom pwns all! and for heroes. the thing. ben grimm. he pwns too. theres a fantastic four movie coming out in the near future. and like most other superhero movies it will probably be horrible. like x-men they didnt have beast OR gambit.
I mean Stan Lee. "I am The Hulk..Roarwgh. I Realli Did It Once"
any simpsons fans will know what im on about

Im an "old school new school geek" I think.

I like programming. In fact, i love programming. I love computer games. I love these forums. However, IRL i do a hell of a lot of exercise, go out with my friends all the time and skip lectures.

One thing i dont do is talk about computers in pubic - guy in my computer class "yesterday i made a compiler for...."
me - "get a life"
class - "hahaha"

Technically, i should have thought it was cool, but i just thought it was lame and geeky in the extreme to discuss that kind of thing. Weirdos.

@ ric: I'm old enough to drink, just choose not to.

Oh, my children. I must now school you in comic book heirarchy. First, the Hulk? If we are talking about a simple physical brawl then the Hulk would be up there, with the Thing and the Sub-Mariner (not many people realize that he is also class 100 (meaning he can lift 100+tons)). But this is an overall best hero.

Runner up: Wolverine. He has an adamantium skeleton, claws, and lets not forget the healing factor.

Winner: Professor X. Now, I know that some people will disagree (see initial post, I have argued this for hours.) But here is the thing. Professor X has been killed before, he survived on the astral plane, inhabited the Hulk's body, and eventually got his back. Has been crippled twice and come back to walking. But these are all just side notes. The reason he is the greatest mutant hero. He can, turn off your mind. (See The Uncanny X-Men Fatal Attractions crossover Wolverine #75). He put Magneto into a vegetative state because he got pissed.

Best bad guy: Tie between Magneto and Dr. Doom.

Sorry, Venom can't beat Spiderman or Carnage. Not powerful enough to win.

Caveat: this is not coolest good guy or bad guy, just most powerful.

Sorry, my geek is showing.

And despite all of this, I found a beautiful girl to marry me.

Simpsons rule.

Hulk? Mind? What are you talking about? Messing with his head will only make him angrier. And you don't want to piss off a monster who can pitch you through the atmosphere.

Also you must respect a beast who is able to inhale and spit Dr. Fantastic into an embarrassing defeat.

Hey barkeep, keep them coming, the chat is good!

i still think venom is the best badguy ever. the whole being an interstellar virus thing ensures he is pretty much unkillable as he can move to new hosts when his old one is pwnt.

for best hero dr x. is pretty powerful but my personal fav. is rogue. look at how i steal your powers. ahahahaha. pwnt

@ ric you miss my point. I am not talking like cognitive thought mind, I am talking like the ability to send messages to the rest of your body. Huge green muscles are great, and the Hulk kicks A, but if he cannot move AT ALL, he cannot whoop anyone

@ corax. You make good points, what about Carnage though. All the power of Venom in a homicidal maniac. Same arguemnt on Hulk goes for Rogue.

A really good possibility for best bad guy, now that I remember him, is the Shadow King. He took over like half of the X-Men's minds and used them to nearly kill Prof X.
