wow, quite the party going on in here. Perhaps I'll lay off the Dr. pepper and switch to something stronger... barkeep, a Chocolate Milkshake please! (it's been bleedin' HOT in SoCal lately).
So yesterday my partner & I went out to see Van Helsing. Kate Beckinsale in a corset... mmmmm... the movie was OK, I suppose. not quite as entertainly bad as I thought it would be and not funy enough but watchable. A bit cheesy but sometimes all you want is a cheese sandwich, right? JT (my partner) ultimately didn't like it because (spoiler warning - highlight the text to read) a main character dies in the end and she hates when that happens - kills the whole movie for her. It was good for a matinee in an air conditioned theater but it's no summer classic. Here's hoping Troy & Day After Tomorrow are better.
we snuck into Man on Fire afterwards. Not bad. Took some risks you don't normally see in summer action films and was pretty gritty - a big switch from the usual high-gloss Tony Scott film. JT had the same problem with this one as with Van Helsing though.
In the evening, we played some D2, taking our 'zon/'sin duo into the Maggot lair & Claw Viper temple of Hell act II. I just managed to get her all 5 pieces of M'avina's set so she was quite happy with her 'zons performance. We waltzed through just about everything except the final claw vipers - who killed my 'sin with his FE death explosion and then while i was on my way back, some unique greater mummy killer my partner's 'zon. we went back in together, grabbed our bodies and took care of the last few critters.
Off into the harum tonight. For some reason, Jeryn wouldn't let us in before. I don't understand why he'd have a problem with a couple of ladies entering a harum. Perhaps he knows about us... Oh well.

And if you duck, some bloody Tesladin fries your boots! Grumble grumble, grumble....*

I'd love to get some WF my way. so far, I have yet to get an elite unique to drop (and my partner to her knee when she proposed doesn't count). best rune so far is an Um, and that was from the first area of NM act 4 (Plains of Despair?).LowLander said:
My Fishymancer is making his way through Hell act 1 now so I hope he has better WF than our 'zon/'sin combo. He was doing OK until a cursed, aura-enchanted (the sickly green one - not sure what that is but I don't like it) Coldcrow (along with 2 other random Uniques both immune to physical) wiped out his 30+ army in seconds 3 times in a row before he was finally able to bone spear her to death. Anyway, he has 400%+ MF so I'm looking forward to getting him into the Pits for some MF runs so I can finally find some stuff instead of begging & trading. JT wants an IKSC for her barb and has been bugging me alot. so if I disapper for a bit it's because I'm doing endless Pit runs hoping to see Sacred Armor somewhere. ::::sigh:::::

I've stood in as bartender for Votan a few times now, so I'll gladly show you around. Our most expensive Single Malts are kept in the cellar, with the wine & champagne. Fortunately for these worthy adventurers, we take gold, and there's always that credit card that's floating around (don't tell Durf!).
Votan's officially the barman, but seeing as he doesn't seem to come here too much, I'm sure you'll be a great bartender (if he comes in and asks, just say your the hired help for while he's away).
