I liked PoE, but what put me off was the online part.

Even with good connection lag made it hard or even impossible to play. I can't remember what the skill was called in PoE, but it was basically whirlwind from D2. Using that skill i could see what was going on about 5% of the time. All the rest it was just lag, during which i just had to hope i stayed alive.

Other skills i tried were better, but it just bugged me too much. A shame because it certainly had potential.

@Cakes: What happened??! You're one of us regular folks now!

Skjolde what kind of keyboard are you looking at, a gaming one or just a normal plain old one? (I'm guessing a qwerty one ^^)

Well I hope the lag isn't so bad, I'll see when we get our laptop.

Right now I'm using a Logitech Wireless keyboard. While it was great at the beginning and I love that I could sit back in my chair and just lift up the keyboard, It just seems unstable now after I've used it for 1,5 years. It doesn't have any delay when I press buttons, it simply doesn't react sometimes.

This is what I have now: http://www.logitech.com/en-ca/product/wireless-illuminated-keyboard-k800

What I liked about it was that it was fairly slim, illuminated and that is was very quiet to type on.. I also liked the fact that it was wireless, but I don't think it's a good idea to go for that again :D

I had a lovely little wireless keyboard that was useless for diablo as it only had 4 F keys. But it was light and slim and took up virtually no space. It also stopped working after a year and would only type As randomly! Got it replaced, same thing happened! I won't be bothering with cute little wireless keyboards anymore.

@Cakes: empty your inbox! I ordered the video card, and will need lots of hand holding when it finally arrives so that I don't accidentally blow up the computer. :O

Anyone playing Path Of exile?
Recomendations for builds are welcome, I'm looking towards witch and duelist?
Anything else I should know let me hear it.

I'm playing a lot of POE. I like the game about a 1000 times better than D3. The new popular skills seem to be flameblast and searing bond with arctic armor and EB which goes fine with a witch. Crit spectral throw is also popular I think. Since I play solo and selffound I don't have any chance of ever getting the gear for any of the really good builds, so I have my fun with a normal spectral throw scion. It's fun and I'll eventually find a good weapon and HP gear I guess. ;)

*cuddles?*

I don't have anything wireless. I like wires. Wires are reliable. My pc maintenance guy (who is also my closest friend but he was that first before he became my pc maintenance guy) fixes computers for a living, lots of wireless stuff and while most of it is fine he will always say if you can use a wire, use it, it's better.
So yeah, lots of wires: speakers (newish), mouse (very old), keyboard (also very old) but the last two still ingreat working order and comfy so why bother replacing it?
James May has an absolute hatred of wires - he'd put 'm in Room 101 if they'd let him - and I'm convinced that my fully wired pc is the reason he doesn't come over to read me Pratchett when I'm sick.

I heard its not so clear cut as diablo 2/3 there is no ultimate class nor a class that is best in x and another class in y, if thats true all classes should be viable for the endgame and it depends on the skills you take to have something decent or am I completely mistaken?

To expand upon this: All the classes really do is define your aesthetic appearance your starting statistics (minor differences), and where you start in the passive tree. This tends to translate as certain classes "tending" to be better @ X over others simply because they have easier access to certain nodes. Even so, caster maurauders (theoretically a tanky-melee class) are very much so a thing. So in theory, any class in viable to a wide variety of things. In practice, at higher level play, there will tend to be one class who ends up being best at certain things because their location ends up being the most point efficient. Other classes will often end up being viable for the same focus, just not quite as good as the "best" one. That said, all the classes generally have something that they are best at.

As to your questions about witch/duelist: I recently made a reave duelist that I really enjoyed. It plays sort of like a cleave that starts out with a smaller range but quickly builds up to a really quite large range (more like a ranged ability). It scales very well with attack speed, and benefits a lot from movement speed (positioning), so it feels like a very faced paced and engaging character. There's a few guides on the forums for that one; I ended up doing something similar to this. The recent patch hit the build with a bit of a nerf but nothing too drastic, I think.

Summoner builds are really popular for the witch lately. I'm not really familiar with that one though, as my foray into summoner was with the scion before the recent nerfs to her area of the tree and spectral throw. If you're looking to play a caster type, consider the shadow, as that area recently got a large buff, particularly to it's caster half of the starting area. Ethereal Knives is a pretty popular spell that isn't too gear dependent.

No problem! As to my avatar I have no idea, it's been too long. I got it years and years ago off an image board, and I apparently never renamed it with something more meaningful than random numbers. ^^;

Looks like a fun first char build, I'll test that out to get a feel of the game and later I might make my own chars or look up some other builds that i fancy.
Any good sites you can recommend to look for builds and learn more about the game?

The avatar rings a bell but for the life of me I couldn't say why.

My inbox is way too full to empty :). I guess I should just repay for my pal status ....

I agree with your friend, wires ftw!

I've only ever really used the game's official forums as far as sites go (although there is a reddit as well), but the most informative resource I found in trying to learn more about the game is youtube videos. Kripparian has a lot of videos with tips and tricks and such, but it can be hard to navigate them as he's been away from the game for some time, and he pushes out a lot of content (and somehow doesn't use playlists). A more new-user friendly person to check out would be ZiggyD , who does a lot of video guides aimed at new/intermediate players. He recently started streaming as well, if that's something you're into.

Lots of cobra's there.

I'll be trying ZiggyD lighting arrow ranger, seems a decent build and pretty straightforward to get to know the game and I'll try my own builds once I get the hang of the game.

Cause now I don't get somethings described in the build but that will all become clear whe ni start playing I pressume.
Which if my laptop arrives today will be somewhere this weekend / next week.
