Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

You are a plucked chicken, who in his right mind takes you seriously.
Or is that avatar out of date, have you redeemed yourself yet?

Here are some quotes that contradict you :p

“Between the radiant white of a clear conscience and the coal black of a conscience sullied by sin lie many shades of gray--where most of us live our lives. Not perfect but not beyond redemption.”

“Not every story has a happy ending, ... but the discoveries of science, the teachings of the heart, and the revelations of the soul all assure us that no human being is ever beyond redemption. The possibility of renewal exists so long as life exists. How to support that possibility in others and in ourselves is the ultimate question.”

I'm beyond redemption. :(

Goodness, what has happened in here? Everyone has gone so dark! Let's put the lights on.

Or, let's not and just enjoy the shadows and not have other people telling us what to do. That sounds kind of nice too.

I'm off to Cali tomorrow, I think it will be a relief to be away but it is such a short trip! Part of me wants to run away from everything, even though Hollywood has been telling me for years that that doesn't solve problems. I guess Hollywood's solutions are .... um... no, that's not it ... oh poor brain!

Have you been reading fifty shades of grey?

Whether or not i'm human remains to be seen.

Pity. I was beginning to enjoy the darkness.

I usually don't listen to what other people tell me to do. Nothing new there.

Haha, I've noticed! How's the hand? You know what, it's your hand, you take care of it how you see fit. And let's just light a candle or two so it's a pleasant, comforting dimness rather than darkness, and let's hang out there without talking too much or telling anyone what to do or galloping in to fix anything.

Then get your *** back here and add to this! Is the cultural shift towards a male dominated population seen quite a bit? Have you noticed an influx in gender bias in birth?

Only in the farm villages of China they still prefer men over women. Nowadays people my age in China are having issues getting dates. I think people will eventually come to their senses soon when there's not enough women for continuing the generation line....

I heard about the one-child policy, but not that females were less desired as children. :/

The Girls being less Desirable is most cultures if you go back a few hundred years.
As a Father that's paid for 2 Weddings I can still see reasons why.
:D
Just Kidding. But Dowry is a good example.
Was still true In China prior to the one child policy which is why that policy directly increased female infanticide.

There are 32 million more marriage-age men in the country than there are women, according to the British Medical Journal.

Also you have a generation that's looking for Woman to Date and Marry now and the Government got worried so it's dropped off a lot. In fact they are paying for girls now and it is now illegal to get an ultrasound in order to identify the sex of a baby. Still...

According to the latest census, an average of 120 boys are born for every 100 girls, the greatest imbalance in the world.

"Four-two-one" problem

As the first generation of law-enforced only-children came of age for becoming parents themselves, one adult child was left with having to provide support for his or her two parents and four grandparents.[SUP][93][/SUP][SUP][94][/SUP] Called the "4-2-1 Problem", this leaves the older generations with increased chances of dependency on retirement funds or charity in order to receive support. If personal savings, pensions, or state welfare fail, most senior citizens would be left entirely dependent upon their very small family or neighbours for assistance. If, for any reason, the single child is unable to care for their older adult relatives, the oldest generations would face a lack of resources and necessities. In response to such an issue, all provinces have decided that couples are allowed to have two children if both parents were only children themselves: By 2007, all provinces in the nation except Henan had adopted this new policy;[SUP][95][/SUP][SUP][96][/SUP] Henan followed in 2011.[9

Also of note..
Since there are no penalties for multiple births, it is believed that an increasing number of couples are turning to fertility medicines to induce the conception of twins. According to a 2006 China Daily report, the number of twins born per year in China had doubled.
