Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

it's funny actually i am the only hairy person in either side of our families within the last 4/5 generations. thats right i am mutation.

D&D tonight i managed to one shot a hook horror before the other 7 party members failed to kill the other one, which ate me, then the witch poisoned me for some slight i can't remember. luckily the fire mage threatened her into fixing me, and now i know she tried to kill me so it's time to plot revenge. (given the character i'm playing ordinarily by now i'd have driven my maul through her face, but its her first role play adventure so i am giving her a chance to role play her way out)

Or something funny about Australia.

The accent?

@Corax: Hey... I might not be able to be a Bond, but I'd be better than Johnny English. I'm enjoying your insights into RP. Maybe they'll evolve into this one day.

I had a haircut today, haven't had one since Christmas I think, so so glad to have done it. It's a very nice local barbers, and there's a new place opening up just opposite, I hope he retains business.

GF came home with her back hurting, so I made her put her feet up, finished the chores and cook dinner. She's at a conference tomorrow, back in Cornwall, so from 0800 tomorrow to 1700 Saturday it'll be GameTime. To be fair I won't wake up until about midday, but even so.

I know barely anything about it, I just acknowledge its existence. A bit like Lady Gaga.

i believe lady gaga is guano crazy

@corax: that's the next costume, to be featured soon.

@Swiller: that don't make it a much better hardware. How does it even work? I didn't try playing Diablo on PS. Say you're playing a Rogue. How do you aim the bow? Switch the skills? I mean in D1 everyone could've learned the spells from the books/times whatever. That's potentially like... more buttons that a controller has.

Milk for me today.

I still have a Playstation. I went through at least 3, those old things would break so easily.
And as for controlling Diablo, I can't guess how you would even do that. It can't be worse than some of the things I've played, though. Freedom Fighters for the PS2 was a great game, but it had one huge flaw: To zoom in, like when sniping, you had to click the stick you moved the crosshairs with. Coupled with the rounded analog sticks, you wound up moving every time you tried to zoom. It was infuriating.

EDIT: Another application printed, I'm debating whether to wait until tomorrow and call the school or just do the same I did on the other one. Probably the latter, but I don't know. Just found out about a crit series I now want to race very much. It starts the 22nd. Not much time. I will have to think about this.

*serves milk*

EDIT 2: I just sent that email I was dreading. I didn't know what to say, so I didn't really say anything. I will wait to see if she responds. My hands are trembling right now.

One tall glass of milk coming up!

Yes, the playstation version is rather bad. Even the screen looks different...they abandoned the life and mana orbs in the lower corners, and adopted bars along the left of the screen instead.

As for control, one button is for attack, another to use your selected skill, and yet another to activate shrines and chests. The thing I dislike the most is that (as far as I can tell) you cannot select which monster to target; it auto-targets the monster closest to you.

Diablo on the Playstation is a sad tale, because there are some incredibly good RPGs for the system. Suikoden and Legend of Legaia are totally sweet!

Hi ahcw! How have you been?

@greebo we used to have out net go blimpy intermittiant cable/internet all the time, we called in told them as much, the tech person told me that they could see in the logs that going out other times too and they said since no one else was calling in it must be our house so sent some one out to check the wiring. Didn't work. so we switched. (long story version: it wasn't just our house, they re-wried it and it still blipped every day durning the summer around lunch time. I asked one of the retires and she said she had that problem all the time, but she didn't even know who to call so she just put up with it  personally I think it was kids off from school and people home for lunch casuing too much traffic, but the ISP cable co wasn't about to admit that!)

@corax what other kind of RP'ing? live action? why's would that be an issue and not pen and paper?
Wives just don't understand games.

Tell that to goltar (my hubby).

Speaking of which try to get her to play! I known plenty of girls who like to play with their BFs and goltar and I do in the evening when the babies are in bed sometimes. Or at least get her to read Darth and Droids and tell her you're more like Pete.
p.s. the "this" is from Reno 911. But it does almost seem like something that could be real. Esp. at like Burning Man or something.

Kremtok? OMG. it's like oldies coming out of the wood work.

At our favorite resterant they set up the table for us with high chair, menus, and our drinks when they see us getting out of the car. Since one of the things we noticed was that with a small child we tend to get HORRIBLE service we tip very well when we're taken care of. And when they do things like not charge us for the full salad bar b/c we're only getting one plate, we tip in cash on the part we aren't charged for, if they don't report it then oh well, there are plenty of times they'll taxed on money they didn't make....

@corax: wait till she older and her revenge is crying so hard she gives herself bloody noses. ps. Exploding runes.

@Queen: keep the job you like. As an economist I can assure you that liking the job is part of the benifits package. p.s. major congrats! And I did have the perfect baby, she was sleeping 4 hours at a time within 2 days, and 6 at night before she was a week. She even took 2-3 hour naps in the middle of the day up to 2 years old. But she grew up. Luckly good sleep habits set then means she still goes to bed by 8:30 and doesn't get up until 7:15 am barring nightmares.

@sint: I gave up GW long ago. It was dying since the day it was released.

Beer please, to chase the RL beer I have in front of me. GF at a conference until tmrw evening, so I've been D2ing all day and just bought some beer.

Was Baalin' with Zylo and a Sur dropped. I'd like to think it was my insane rune luck continuing for other people.

In just over a week I've had four Fal, two Lem, one Pul, four Mal, one Ist, one Gul, one Ber and a Jah, and the Sur that dropped for Zylo.

Anyway, drunk TF2 is fun, but drunk L4D2 is normally better.

Well...the kids are in bed, the wife is away at a conference, and I just found a Bud Light in the back of the fridge with a born on date of 11 months ago...let the good times roll!

Sounds like a recipe for MP IMO.

And now for something completely different...

I was just cruising a Titan Quest forum trying to learn... well, anything useful to know since I'm a complete noob. And in the third thread I checked, I had a Shagsbeard sighting. Haven't seen that guy for a long while.

edit: Oh, did someone say beer? MP? :whistling:

I'm not so sure that the beer is agreeing with me so far... But I've been keepin' this bad boy cold for 11 months, so I'll be danged if I'm gonna let it whup me!

beer? MP? Hmmmm.....
