Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Indeed, this weather is rough. Supposed to get almost 12 hours of freezing rain here tonight(Central Pennsylvania). Good time for a personal day from work methinks.

Not going to get out of the 60's here today, although at least it's nice and sunny. Had the AC on in the car on the drive to work, although to be honest, it was on low.

That sounds soooooo nice right now.

We have already reached our high for the day: 1
But hey at least we're finally in the positives! It got down to about -20 last night, being outside for a minuet or two is almost unbearable.

now there's a reason to quit smoking.

the leading edge of cyclone Yasi has just passed over us, i was outside checking the sky when it hit me, by the time i got to the door i was soaked, another 10 hours till it hits directly, thats the size of this monster

high fives all round

I'm about to do the rounds of the street and lecture people on cyclone preparedness.
in a cul de sac of 8 houses there are 2 trampolines, 1 for sale sign, 4 various wheelie bins and a collecton of garden gnomes still outside and we are only 4 1/2 hours off the main event of a cat 5 cyclone.

silly people with their missles of death

@Kaysaar: Fellow New Englander? Yeah, we've had it rough. It's supposed to be spread out over two days this time. Ugh.

New Englander indeed. In my neck of the woods we're looking at 18-24 inches over the course of the storm(s). But I can't complain too much, as we have a snow day, and as the teacher, I still get paid.

What? you don't want a lawn gnome shooting through the side of your house at warp speed?

Hope everything goes well for you today.

Corax - You need to set up a video camera so that we can see the gnome missiles flying around your neighborhood.

Hope you and yours come through unscathed.

I meant what did Mr Ben serve his guests at his dinner party.

I remember an episode with a turkey. ...And the movie, too.

Hey! What're all these unwashed pint glasses and cookie trays doing in my old corner booth??

...I like it. Feels like home away from home!

Cold here, especially overnight, but not even rain.

I never got into Mr Bean.

Been spending my nights watching Minecraft vids on YouTube.

I like Bean. I haven't seen in in forever though, save for one broadcast of the old Bean movie on BBC America back in the fall. The one with that dude that would be on Ally McBeal later.

And I have seen a few cool MineCraft videos, I like the guy that made a mountain and filled it with TNT. The explosion was horrific. It also made his computer seize. It was cool.

Pancake is off to sleep now, he has had a long day of not doing much and needs his rest. Tomorrow he dodges responsibility once more, but Friday will actually mean stuff to do. He will also probably text RCG about doing something this weekend, either the official fiance meeting that has been mentioned or just an informal hanging-out. I do want to talk to her about some stuff, and her other half would probably feel very uncomfortable around that.
Anyway, good night Bar. Last one out, put a blanket over TRM. He seems to have fallen asleep in his booth.

Still in NH, Kaysaar? Me too. Two feet of snow, but work not cancelled = angry me! :(

Yep - rocking it out in Manch-vegas. We didn't seem to get as much on day 2 that they forecasted.

As a professor, I have discretion over whether or not I feel it is too dangerous, but fortunately my boss made the call the night before! I didn't get to spend the day playing Mass Effect as I had planned - I ended up spending the whole damn day doing grad school work.

Morning, bar. With that blanket and the cushions from the seats, I made a fort! It's dark, it's warm, and I've got a six-pack and a GameCube with a five inch screen. You have to guess the password to get in, though. Don't worry... there are a lot of passwords.

And that guy in the Bean movie and Ally McBeal was in Ghostbusters 2 as well. Absolutely brilliant actor, I must say. [/sarcasm]

Best of luck with RCG, pancake. Off to work!
