Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Groovy on all counts.

I also would not mind a small apartment. My LI garage apartment was about 600 sqft, with a good 50 square feet of unusable space, and another ~80 square feet of closets (the largest of which constantly reeked of cat urine, because the litter box was directly above it, and one of the landlord's cat's preferred to pee in the corner). I had 8 guests for dinner one night, and numerous 5+ guest events there. So I know it's possible.

And I also don't think I can really feasibly move much more than 30 miles or so any time soon, so moving to Atx is sort of out. But who knows how I'll feel in the future.

As to coming down. . . hummm. Momma's planning a trip to Roundrock at the end of the month. I might be able to tag along, steal her car, and pop on down for a day or two. But it would likely be best to wait a bit and see how life shakes out.

I remain hopeful about finding the sort of place that I'm looking for, be it conservative *** garage or some sort of duplex or tiny old house. Despite my tendency to break down, I have a firm belief that everything will work out for the best, and at exactly the right time.

And I bet your neighbors think "bastard" when they see you boozing at 9am. They're just jealous (as am I :D)

And on that note, is it time for my celebratory beer? Hummm. . . Absolutely-frakin-A it's time!

What's your mom gonna be doing in Round Rock? I'm literally four minutes from the edge of RR and only about two or three minutes from I35. No pressure, and I know that riding in a car with my mother would be pretty hellacious.

In all regards, keep us informed of what develops!

And thank you for posting, cuz I have to say to FastE whenever he shows up: Is stephan's avatar Flat Eric of Mr. Oizo fame? I learned about him maybe only six months ago, but how many times have I seen that picture?! I have such selective, blinded vision sometimes...

Red, FE & Jimgun: I'd join you unless I just hate airtravel. You'd like my *** disposition

I'm a little drunk already and going fast so :guiness:

Cannot play D2 tonight so just listening to random music I pick from youtube.

Ulla

I have an aunt in RR. . . my uncle passed away earlier in the summer, and my mom goes down periodically to help out the aunt. And I actually enjoy spending time with momma, especially on car trips: we sing, chat, stare blankly out the window, etc. Good times.

And I'll be catching up to TRM and Ulla pretty quickly. . . this Leviathan is 9.3%, and tastes like heaven. Yum.

The Bar used to be known for spam. Soon it'll be known for over indulgence. :(

Well I've got the weekend to myself, so time to munch my way through chocolate and demolish the tea supply.

Oh, there's a new lock on the Bar's drinks. To open it to get a drink you have to send a friend's request here. It's OK. I have a plan. Muhahahaha. Thank you!

BE MY FRIEND WARLOCK!

It hasn't stopped raining, so I can't test out my new shoes right now. They are these, and I've put the cleats from a used pair I got onto them. I'll probably have to practice quite a bit so I don't fall down, but it will be worth it when I'm on 20 or 30 mile rides. Not that I'll be able to do those if this rain continues...

Dew please, barkeep.

Yay!
*drinks Dew*

I paid $75 for them, since they were on an end of year half off sale. That leaves me with having to buy a new helmet and I will have gotten all new gear. Huzzah! I've been looking at this one, which has the right price and is much lighter and sleeker than my current one. The only reason I bought my current one was because it would fit my enormous head, so I will have to go to the shop and try them all on to see which are large enough for my noggin.
Plus, if I get it in blue, it totally matches my jersey!

Eurgh, I wish I could find new shoes that easily. I have size 12.5 feet UK size (about, er, 48 EU?) and they're also very narrow, which makes finding shoes which are comfortable a pain in the backside. Not to mention current fashion doesn't cater for my personal preferences. When I find a pair, I generally buy 2 sets if I can afford it, and wear them until they get holes in the soles.

Unfortunately my last pair is letting in rainwater... so the hunt begins again.

I always found Clarkes good for odd shapes. Or Doc Martins.

More wide than narrow but worth a shot.

Thanks to all who are sending friend's requests here, my cunning plan continues. :)

There is so much truth in that sig.

Well, my street shoes are usually quite difficult to find, so I was very happy when I found these quite easily. I, too, have narrow feet that are very large, so I always wind up buying the narrowest pair I can find and tightening them. Unfortunately, this leads to the material giving out and the shoes being impossible to tighten which, coupled with the soles being worn out and separating from the top part, tends to make them unwearable.

Well, it rained all day today, and then the fog set it, so I never got to ride. I'm hoping tomorrow will be different.

I'll have a Grape Fanta, barkeep.
