Is it Beer O'Clock yet?

*looks at nonexistent watch*

Why yes it is! w00t!

I'll take a LongHammer, for sure. Yum.

No nap today. . . I found a really exciting job posting this morning and have been working up the perfect resume for it. I'm getting closer, but I'm starting to nod out and really can't look at it any more, so I'm going to drink beer and read up on InDesign, which I played around some with a few years ago, but have never even opened the CS3 version. Good times.

I had waaaay too many beers (nice beer though), had a nice nap (although it was about two hours too long) and so with my annoying staggered sleep patterns, bacon sandwich and delicious cup of tea I finally completed Fallout 3. Although because GFWL wasn't working it didn't give me any achievements, and when I finally got it working and signed in, it wasn't compatible with my save game... How very Microsoft...

I'm going to play Fallout 3 again, with an evil melee man instead of a good crackshot-with-a-pistol girl. This time I think I shall blow up Megaton.

Football!!! The last few years, I haven't been able to see too many live games, so this is great to see the season opener. I've got the game hooked up to my projector, plus I've got a few beers, so... rock on!

@FastE: I'm super impressed that you're taking your driving lessons in a car with a manual transmission. If you're going to learn, might as well go the full nine, eh? I hate driving stick. I like to be able to focus on the things zooming past my car rather than unnecessary stuff inside it. But it's really good to know how. I bet it's still pretty scary for you, but are you enjoying yourself and seeing how awesome life will be once you're driving on your own?

Deaddave sighting!

How've you been, mate? Still lurking around here I see. ;)

What's this 'birthdays' forum-thing some of the frequent daily makers have mentioned? I can't seem to find it.

Go to the main forum list and scroll all the way to the bottom. Under where it lists all the active users, it tells us new members and any of the day's birthdays. ...Whatever that calendar that Nagisa (?) mentioned, though, I haven't yet looked for it... :whistling:

edit: oh, if you click on the cake where it lists the birthdays, you can jump around days. Interesting. Something I don't know is why it listed only two people on the main page but a dozen when you go to the calendar. :scratchhead:

And it's good to see you, DD! Fancy a drink while you're here?

Oh wow! Nice, TRM. Never knew about that. Cheers.

*gets some chilled beers ready for when DD drops back in*

I share a birthday with DX-Crawler! Oo

@TRM: I didn't even think of it like that. In the UK it's more standard than you'd think. I started learning with a stickshift a few years ago, and I'd have struggled to find an automatic 'first car' (i.e. a broken-down banger within my price range). Don't you ever want to redline it like those ohsocool petrolheads from the Fast & Furious franchise? :P

I'm too tired. Girlfriend has a flat tyre so she may not be able to come over for date night. She was going to cook before we went and watched District 9. Darn. Oh well, I might get a lift to hers from mumsie, so at the very least we can spend Friday night together.

MS points are annoying, even more so now I don't have an XBOX. Looking to buy the Fallout 3 DLC at 4AM, but I don't have a credit card, so I had to buy the 'box of points' from Amazon, which will take a few days cuz I selected free postage. Grrr...

Tea please.

Sup MLM!

Managed to have date night after all, so we managed to go to the cinema and have a lovely dinner together. District 9 was awesome. Best film I've seen all year (cliche I know), I was gripped the entire way through (cliche I know), for me the pacing was perfect. Sharlto Copley put in an amazing debut performance. Although it was alarmingly hysterical when he went from being a
South African mutant to Colin Farrell in a mech suit
It kept my girlfriend and I talking about it all night, mainly due to its ambigutity, but also due to its mirror of apartheid and other racial tensions.

Anyway. Today some chores, Fallout 3 and this wicked little zombie shooter called Nation Red I got off Steam, before work at 4PM.

whats up?

Not much right now, just chilling at home before I'll go and get my new TV. Maybe I'll watch some movie or something. Maybe meet some new people tonight, if I'll hit to the pub.

Yesterday, I watched Zeitgeist. It was, umm, quite something. Of course I've followed the 911-situation, when it was more current, but this documentary gave me a lot of new stuff, I didn't know. I really recommend the Zeitgeist, if you're any interested about the "myth of 911". Not sure, if it's the most objective opinion about what happened, but still an interesting observations. Of course, everyone has to remember that there's a chance that everyone is bull****tin' you.

Enough for that, everyone has their own opinion and I think this is not the place to discuss about that. Just wanted to say that Zeitgeist is definitely worth to watch.

Can I have some orange juice?

+1 for Zeitgeist.

I was at kids health workout today. I participated in 2 of those in a row, so I'm spent. It's like my hands weight several KG more than they normally do, and my legs can barely hold my weight. Yummy endorphins :cloud9:

@Neksja : Did you hit the pub? You still sober? *gives orange juice*
@FE : Did you survive the shift?
@Pijus : Hows that b.net going?

*heads for fridge an a Dew*

Where is JayGun?

-1 for Zeitgeist. Stopped it after about half an hour. I don't mean to sound like a film snob, but it just looked *really* cheap and it wasn't what I thought it would be, and it sounded very condescending in parts.

+57 for District 9.

@MLM: I survived thank you, relatively easy, but I did stay on an extra hour to finish some work.

I said to one of my friends I'd make them a music disc as a favour for a lift home. Going to do that after a shower, and before Fallout 3. I'm aiming for a pretty complete run-through on Hard difficulty, with lots of stat books picked up, side quests done and random places explored, all ready for the five expansion packs I plan to get.

Barkeep, a Cinzano and lemonade, on the rocks, with a twist of lime, in a frozen glass.

*slides FE a . . . whatever that is he's asking for*

~1 for Zeitgeist. . . The various 'acts' didn't really meet up and make a whole, imo, (though I agree with the 'conclusions' drawn in each segment, and the ultimate point of the finale). But it was nice to watch something like that again. Back in IL, one of my best friends was (and is) the world's biggest conspiracy theorist and we shared some great times. I ended up coming down on the "Yes, but so what" side of it all. So I'll give Zeitgeist a Meh+, or "Two Meh's Meh".

One of these days I'll get out and watch that District 19 movie. Looks fun. One of the local theaters has a $5-before-12 thing, so maybe they'll be showing one at 11:45am some day, and I can go have popcorn for lunch. :D

And I'll have another LongHammer, if there's one back there. Yum. :guiness:

I noticed that If I hear good things about a movie before seeing it, I'll like it more. I heard some good things about Zeitgeist. They even tried to show it to use at uni.

Well, I heard good things (2 +1s) about Zeitgeist and decided to give it a shot. It was fine. No complaints. And it was a good way to waste 2 hours: took me back a couple of years, always fun. Anyways.

Woo! Beer! I'll have a LongHammer.

I'm all excited about my new backup system: up and running (mostly), and I learned a bunch of Terminal commands (and am teaching myself some launchd) to make things even easier. I feel highly accomplished and exceptionally smart.

Simple victories FTW!!!
