Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Anyone up for some pool? Im getting myself 3rd beer, thats my peak in pool skills :)

I'd definitely be up for some, but I just cracked #5, and my peak happens between sober and beer 3.75, so . . .

I'll have yet another LongHammer, for sure, while I loose a game of pool or 37 to skiffcz.

Better yet, I'll have another LongHammer while I take RangerRick to Lut Gholein. I would ask for some good luck wishes, but, as FE and TRM and Bob love to point out, I am the master of A1N! :jig: :alright: :smug:  :cloud9:

*turns hose on Megalomania*

What are the "+"'s next to some peoples' names for?
I'm just recovering from an injury from aikido last week. A strained muscle in my neck, and possibly bruising around my collarbone.

I believe the plusses indicate they're your friend.

Bruised collarbone? Eech. I think you need to learn better break falls. Hope you can still move without wincing.

The bar still serve food? I'll take some pizza. I need to gain some energy before I go see the GF.

Hmm, pluses are friends makes sense. :) Cheers.

They were an unusual breakfall we've never done before, from a fairly high level technique. I'm decent at standard breakfalls, but the position was one I've never felt before.
It's not as bad as it sounds. At first, I couldn't lean on the arm as it would just give way, but now it's just stiffness and an ache if I try to stretch it. I'm going back this week, so it should be fine enough to train with. :)

There's plenty of pizza around.

*throws a few cheese pizzas in the oven*

*turns hose off before flooding out pizzas*

That's sucks, man. I know how ya feel though.
*keeping out of that topic because of a previous drunken post I made a while back around the same topic*

@Drystan: I've been trying to learn to spring up with my hands when I roll backwards(like in the old aikido video that you posted, at 2:48). Can't do it yet, but I'm going the right way. Can you do it?

Yay more aikido talk! I've been put forward for a yellow belt grading this week, but I'm way too nervous to do it and don't think I'm ready.

I'm running late, but I get to see the laydee later. It's about time.

Green tea to go pl0XX.

Nothing brings out aikido talk like an aikido injury! Thanks... ;)

To be honest, like Pijus said, if you're going for it, you usually are ready. And everyone's nervous before their grading, so don't worry about nerves too much. In my opinion, whether you go for the grading or not is decided while just attending training - that's when people really can see where you're at.
The actual gradings is more of a formality, to show this is where you're at, and to celebrate the occasion.
Anyway, best of luck and have fun!

But... But I get scared! And I want to hit people with my bokken!

Sorry to hear what this day means to you MLM. I'll reply to your PM later. Won a few skillers by hideously overbidding in an auction, must remember to sort that out when I get home as well.

Lalala... I can't wait for this evening, though I have to go to work early to be a witness for some formal disciplinary talks.

I´m not sad about it, I only look back and feel terrible about it... I´m so glad it´s over and have my dreamgirl now. But I´m a negative person so I have troubbles looking on it from the good side.

I'll reply to your PM later
No rush, took me 15 days to answer your last!

What type of Skillers?

So you have witnesses 4 such, gee thats really someting, like the McDonalds Army or something

@FE : Hope the grading goes well, I´m sure we´ll gear from each other before then!!
*sips water*

I did a hunter safety course thingie this weekend, which ended yesterday with me and a 12 gauge shotgun at a gun range. It was pretty fun, especially once I got over the initial nervousness of holding a very large weapon. We didn't get to use the rifles, which I was looking forward to, but that will wait for a later time.

In other news, I was supposed to go out for a long ride today, and had planned for it and stuff, but forgot to check the weather. That meant that I woke up to flash flood warnings and heavy winds. Needless to say, back to bed. I'll try again tomorrow, if the weather permits. I'm hoping I can start doing longer and longer rides, and maybe try to tackle Pilot Mountain before it gets too cold.

Dew, please.

OMG MLM! You finally got a 'tar?! And it's not related to LK-running?

I got a plain Sparking skiller, and some Acrobat's. Re the witnessing: Even unskilled minimum wage jobs have disciplinary procedures, especially something as Satantically standardised and multinational as the Golden Arches.

The first time I get to spend an evening with the lady in five days and she falls asleep at 10PM. I don't mind, she looks so pretty when she sleeps.

Regarding more martial arts talk: I've convinced my gym friend and her new boyfriend, and someone who just moved into the village (all of which I work with) to come to aikido on Wednesday - Yet another reason for me not to do my grading!

Nice Avatar M3g4!

And I'm suddenly rather jealous of FE, since watching pretty women sleep is one of my favorite things, for sure.

Ok. So I ended up playing the SoD Tourney all day and updating the ruleset for the socket tourney instead of going to the pub like I planned. (Plus, once it hit 5pm here, I cracked a beer and haven't looked back!) So I guess I'll be hanging out here for the night. Luckily, mominem have decided to go out for dinner. Good times!

So I'll have a LongHammer, thanks, and keep 'em coming!

Cheers! :guiness:

Edit: Ok. It's midnight here in TX and I've got some stuff to do early in the day tomorrow, but I just cracked another beer.

Why?

I just saw an advert for the upcoming GI-Joe film on the tele. . . HA! :rolf:

Back in the late 1980s, my dad worked at a camera store in a shopping mall. My parents were recently divorced, and I spent every other weekend with dad, who happened to work weekends. So, I spent every other weekend wandering aimlessly around the mall. . .

Aimlessly, that is, until I discovered the ancient art of toy theft. I stole micro machines, legos, candy, whatever-those-little-pink-guys-with-muscles-etc-were-called, and . . . GI-Joes. Lots and lots of GI-Joes. Like something on the order of 10/month for a couple of years. (At 10, I was an aspiring kleptomaniac.)

Seeing that advert brought back loads and loads of happy-happy-joy-joy fun memories, and I just had to have another! Good times!

Cheers, again, bar! :guiness:

Are they called M.U.S.C.L.E.S.? Whatever they were, I inherited a couple from schoolmates and I liked them a lot. There were also some similar-sized rubbery war guys that got some playing time amongst my ninja turtles and army men.

Ahh, micro machines. I had a ton of those, too. What's sad is that I can only remember a single one, a black and yellow El Camino. I was in love with it, so much that I always wanted an El Camino of my own. Too bad we live in the age we do and they're way too hard to find/purchase/maintain.

I've never stolen anything from a store, though. Raised as a devout Catholic, I had enough guilt in my life.

Nice avatar, Megs. You kinda look like that guy from Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas.

Tea, please.

@FE + @TRM + @J6G : Thanx guys! I´m gonna scan the HD for some more pix and try to change avatar from time to time

@TRM : After my mad week of Booze I kind of feel kind of like does crazy dudes in that movie.

@FE : Whats the deal with having a witness when doing Disiciplin stuff? So the person can´t say it never happend?

@J6G : Yä most girls are the cutest when they sleep, since by general when they wake up they start to mess things up :)

*rolls :pancake:man a nice cold mtn dew*

*slides TRM a boiling hot Long Island Ice Tea*

I want to change my avatar soon, so it matches my MSN and Steam pic, but I've lost the pic on my HD somewhere.

@TRM: It does look a lot like Johnny Depp's character in Fear & Loathing: "We can't stop here... This is bat country!"

@MLM: I was the store manager's witness (the person handing out the discipline). I was there to ensure correct disciplinary procedures were followed, and to make sure the suspension process remained amicable. Without being rude, I don't care. I got to sit down and get paid for 80 minutes on a busy Sunday lunchtime.

I had a terrible night's sleep. Woke up at 4AM, worrying about aikido on Wednesday. Soon after the laydee woke up, we had a chat for a bit. Then she went back to bed, and some time after I did too. We woke up at 1PM, having wasted half the day. I guess it's a sign of how tired we were from work. It still annoys me.

^^ Not even close to a WoT. How do you guys do it? :P
