A lionfish, a box jellyfish or pufferfish are also awesome to slap people with or use as ammo in a fish gun or catapult.
They are all poisonous, have spikes to sting with and the pufferfish blows up.
A blue ringed octopus would also be a good water animal to slap people with, it's not a fish though.

Interesting. Either one could be fake, although I had thought of many of the reasons they stated when I watched the video. Wikipedia isn't exactly a great source, but who knows.
