ola me amigos!

My company likes to overpay nomads. A new person off the street with no qualifications or experience gets $6.82 a week less than me with 10 years at the company and all the relevant qualifications they want. And i'm one of the best paid in my situation so a lot of people are getting significantly less than random sally.

I'm also pretty introverted but she's even worse than me in that regard, so it then becomes a plus I guess

I uninstalled hamachi because I kinda broke it and whatevs, I can chat here still :p

me: No, I have no interest and therefore no motivation

them: well what about if your project and thesis instead involved ___ (a side project I started with some high school students because I like teaching and the opportunity arose)

me: maybe (I suggested this exact same thing 4 months ago which they originally said "no" too - apparently you can't just "change projects halfway through or when you lose interest" or whatever)

Well, I guess my supervisors being desperate enough to not have a drop out under them have taken my idea seriously. They probably don't even remember it was my idea. Anyway, I'll be doing more of a chem education type master's if I stick around which is much better suited to my current and future interests.

Well, that's good I guess. Shame it took so long to come to that conclusion though.
 
My job isn't strictly related to my degree, but psychology is everywhere and helps in management, so I can't really complain about that.

For those of you who are interested I actually live in Western Australia now, on a 2 year contract for said company, but hey they paid for me to relocate and then will pay to move me to South Australia when the 2 years is up.

Then I shall be near my small people and all will be well.
I also play d3 a little now too, but on ps3 because it has a dodge function

Possibly my favourite thing about the move though is that everybody over here refers to the rest of Australia as 'over east' in a similar way that people used to mark 'here be dragons' on maps.
But they call their light milk hilo which I hate
 
I too have relocated. I've descended 1,000 feet of elevation and settled at the foot of the mountains opposite my homeland. People here cannot drive and they seem to believe, erroneously of course, that they are the superior state. They are so very wrong.
 
every state is wrong. they are all worse than each other.
The good news is nobody here follows NRL so I don't have to hear about the cowboys.

Last week I worked in the other library, not the one I usually work in. For a full week. Normally I work there every fortnight, but now a full week. The entire school's recently been redesigned/rebuild/changed and now the library is sort of split up in two spaces, with a small corridor in between, on which is our office. On either side of this small corridor are two heavy doors. They are so heavy I have to push them open with my full weight and even then I can barely get through as the close the moment you go through. You don't want to try go trough with a trolley, I did and damaged my shoe and arm.
By the end of the week my neck and shoulders were very sore again, couldn't sleep from it.

One day, one of the builders was working on the doors. I asked him if by any chance he was losening them up a bit as they are way too tight. He said he's not allowed, they're safety doors in case of fire. I said "to be sure no one escapes?"
No sense of humour these people.

But I will have to work there regularly. Can someone blow the doors off?
