Etdlahq Memorial Bar - your shelter from forum crashes

Ah, right. I forgot some people still use Macs :whistling:

They're something I disagree with, mainly because you don't get very much for what you pay, and PCs can do anything a mac can for a lower price. They work fine, they look good, and some people may prefer the interface, but they're overpriced.

My 5p. Don't let it put you off Macs.

[foaming-at-the-mouth anti-PC WoT removed before posting]

I love my Mac.

Fenrix loves his PC.

Let's leave it at that, shall we?

And let's all have a beer or 3. Sound Good? Durf's buying, so pound 'em down! :guiness:

Cheers!

To me PC is hardware and Mac is OS&HW. I have four PC's. Two running Linux and one running the ****ty Vista. The fourth is for retrogaming DOS 3.11. Ultima 3 anyone?

I'm going to replace the Vista machine and put XP or Win 7 on the new one. The hardware of the Vista machine replaces one of the Linux boxes.

Haven't have any experience on Win 7 and neither have some of my best geek friends. Does anyone here now how it compares to Vista.

Ulla

Haven't tried it. I'll probably stick with Vista, which I've never had any problems with. Once I got rid of all the fancy crap, Vista became a smooth, streamlined OS. That took all of 20mins.

I don't know why MS put all that junk on there in the first place, but Vista runs like a dream without it all.

I'm also (half-)curious about W7. . . I have a fantasy about building a PC. . . purely for gaming purposes. . . and even though I don't play any games to speak of, other than D2 of course and would be interested in hearing comments. After experiencing 95, 98, NT, XP and Vista, I'm largely turned off of the whole windows system, but still have some interest in learning more about it.

Another Lambic Ulla? There's one on ice for you if you're interested.

And I'll have yet another LongHammer! Woo!

I'm busy researching Amazon builds. I have an idea for a PJ/CS build and have been wanting to try a Magezon for awhile, but I haven't gotten the nerve up to try one just yet. More research needed. I did actually play a bit with Keyne earlier. . . got her to the IC, then ate something and shut down D2. Good times.

Aww that makes me feel speshul. Since we last discussed it I've finished the main questline for the first time, and I've just restarted after downloading The Pitt, Operation Anchorage and Broken Steel. Later this week I'll be downloading Mothership Zeta and Point Lookout. Although TBH I can't play any of them as the level requirement is pretty high, higher than my new L5 char anyway.

Point Lookout is pretty insane, although totally amazing. I myself tried it at level 12, and was dominated quite easily. Now I'm giving it another shot at level 25, and thing are going well.

Beware the new uglies that Broken Steel added! The albino Radscorpion, Super Mutant Overlord, and Feral Ghoul Reaver are not to be trifled with.

Pre-emptive congrats on hitting a 4-digit post count, JayGun. :D

Yeah, I heard W7 is actually going to be pretty good, and not all that bloated. Of course, even Vista came out on mixed/positive reviews, so I'm not holding my breath.

Didn't check the scores of the finnish football league last night as I was pissed and playing LoD.

TPS lost :mua:

@j6g: Thank's for the beer but put it on ice as I'm going to see my doctor.

Ulla

Give me a bottle of water, please.

Does anyone of you guys know how to look at more than 15 pages of someones post history? I`m looking through my own posts searching for some stuff and I can`t get any further than that.

That was way too serious to ask for in the bar, drinks are on me if I get some help.

Stop spamming?

[/hypocrisy]

I'll take four MOUNTAIN DEW!s please, to fuel a MP session.

It may not work, but how about setting the number of post the forum displays per page to a higher amount? I have 10 for example, Eddie had...I can't exactly remember, but it was quite many post per page. I don't know how to change that setting though. Too lazy to look up.

I think that 10-40 idea is for posts per page. I don't think it changes the amount of threads you see on a page.

If you're doing the advanced search, you can set parameters for the dates the threads were made. You could play around with those for a while and see what changes.

<water for Thomh>

And that's on me. Thanks for the praise in my Bowazon thread. Hope there's a little something to learn in there. ...I learned something, anyway...

Virtual beer, please. I'm eating up some taco stuff. It's not as spicy as I'd like, but it's spicy enough for a beer.

<serves virtual beer>

I'm resisting the temptation to drink quite well. I could quite easily be on my sixth beer now, especially with such an excuse as "it's Thy's 21st birthday".

Completed A3/A4 in Classic v1.09b with Spudnik. Say hello to Dame Swish! Phew, that was tough going! Almost as tough as LoD v1.12a A1 Normal is for JayGun.

Blackberry tea please.

I'm on my third beer, but give me the lambic from ice anyway :)

Doctor said that I should exercise my pelvis more and I asked her if she know any number for suitable gigolo. She looked me like I'm insane.

I think it's time to start playing as there nothing on telly today.

Ulla

A1 Normal is easy. . . it's A2 that I have such trouble with. :D

Well. I went to the leasing office, met with the guy, he took me around to 3 places, all pretty much the same size, all within a mile or so of each other, all painted the same, all built around the same time, all exactly the same price, and all pretty much exactly what I'm looking for. . . we went back, and I started filling out an application. He then asked which one I preferred. . . "Um. . . Uh. . . Jeez. . . The, uh, third one, I guess."

I should hear something from him shortly, regarding whether or not they approve of me. *fingers crossed*

I desperately want a beer, but I'm all out. . . so I'll settle for a virtual beer and an actual glass of iced tea. Time to sit outside, enjoy the fresh air, and chainsmoke until the phone rings. (It's already rang twice (two times more than in the past week), both made me jump, and neither were from the apartment guy. Ugh)

Well the phone rang a third time. . . also not the apartment guy. Grr. So I made a beer run, and am now enjoying a LongHammer and trying to relax and think good thoughts.

Also, I took a look at the stuff the guy gave me, and apparently I applied for the second one. Oh well. Either one will be fine, and I was actually slightly more interested in the Second one: ample parking, more sensible layout, etc. So fingers remain crossed. Good times.

Aaarrrggghhh! It's now 6:55 CST. The apartment offices close at 7. Ugh. And I realized that I never gave them my license plate number. . . good reason to fire off an email to Leasing Dude. So maybe I'll hear something back tomorrow.

Until then, no news is good news, yes?

And I think I'll switch it up a bit. . . how about a Victory Hop Devil. . . Yum. Just as good as I remembered. Ok. In a few minutes it will be time for armpitball, so I'm either going to sit and stare blankly at the game, or play some D2: as yet undecided.

Cheers! :guiness:

It's one o'clock and time for lunch, hum de dum de dum.

No, of course it isn't. It's 3:09 and time to stop playing and drinking.

Barkeep, one nightcap to go. Give me some irish whiskey tonight.

Ulla

A whiskey for Ulla and another Hop Devil for the JayGun: YUM

My head is spinning. . . thinking of furniture layout and overall design scheme of the new apartment. . . hoping I met with the landlord's approval. . . making plans to ditch cable tv in favor of interwebs content & wondering whether to use the old macbook or imac as the entertainment server or sell them both and turn the as-yet-unnamed mbp into a desktop. . . trying to remember what sorts of kitchen stuff I have and what I'll need to beg/borrow/buy/steal. . . trying to remember the layout of the apartment in question. . . thinking about what sort of person I'll attempt to present myself as in the new digs. . . I could go on.

Jeez. I need to stop thinking and start pounding. If I can somehow manage to drink 5-6 beers in the next 1.5 hours, I should be able to sleep; if not. . . well "tossing and turning, turning and tossing, tossing and turning all night" is likely in my future.

*Bravely daring to enter the SP forum to congratulate Thyad with her birthday!*
Who on Isenhart's Green Breastplate are you?

I'll take a MOUNTAIN DEW!, there is a huge orange cat sitting in front of my monitor. He wants me to scratch his head and let him outside. I refuse.
