Dual Dream Melee sorc

I've played with the Dream builds a bit, and the major roadblock I've encountered was AR. I build an enchantress basically pre-all the speculation in here about it, based on the Executress guide, thinking I'd use Beast in conjunction with a Dream helm. Even with a nice Raven, a dozen or so dmg/ar or AR/life charms, and Enchant up in the mid 30s. I'm torn between pumping str. for dmg or vit. for life, and dex for AR. Even still, at lv. 80 I've got about a 60% chance to hit stuff in act IV hell, which is pretty damned dangerous considering that my life is just barely creeping over 1600 in Werebear form and my resists are just below max. Granted, my build is pretty experimental and the stat allocations left a lot to be desired, but I still think that the dual Dream setups, while nice, may need a lot of work.

Maybe a better setup would look something like this:

Dream Helm
Dream Shield
Beast one-hander
Stone Armor (my current sorc has Fortitude, which is nice, but I think hitting higher FHR breakpoints might be more helpful than the dmg bonus)
Tal's or Mara's depending on needs? Maybe Highlords?
Raven
Carrion Wind (9% ll)
Verdungo's/Nosferatu's/SoE (Arach? I'd think that DR, IAS or life might be more helpful than one more skill point. Damage only helps if you're alive long enough to deliver it)
Drac's? Venom Grips? Rares w/ CB, ll, life, resists? Steelrends (would the dmg on rends outweigh the dmg +1 fire from Magefists provide?)
Gores, maybe Sandstorm Trek?
Charms--I'd go with a few fire skillers, maybe lightning depending on what I had access to--what're the pros and cons of each? Is one definetly better pound for pound? Anni, ar/dmg/life or life/resist, resist/fhr, etc scs

Tested. About 50k dmg. 10k ar. Rules in PvM. Cant hit for beans in PvP. BTW watching a sorc bear running around in hell with 1 hit kos is pretty funny. Got a lot of WTFs.
 
In pvp your going to be dieing for ar. You will need the angelic set for ammys so thats -4 skills, your fhr will appsolutely suck unless your going to use dupes. Theres alot of flaws to work out...
 
All calculations made in this post were made earlier in another forum. I just copy paste it here (which I kinda have right to do so... since I wrote the post there too :D )

I calculated that 10 lightningskillers will give you mroe damage then 10 fireskillers. It will also help your e-shield alot.

Here goes again:
Dream Helm (+15 Holy Shock)
Dream Shield (+15 Holy Shock)
Oath Phase Blade (30% CTC level 20 Bone Spirit)
Marrowwalk Boots (level 33 Bone Spirit charges)
+2 ammy
+2 rings
+1 belt
+2 armor (or ormus')

27 Enchant (25 +15%)
20 Warmth
27 Fire Mastery (25)
37 Lightning Mastery (35 + 15%)

level 27 Enchant + lvl 20 warmth (syn) = 327-406 (336 ave)
level 27 Fire Mastery +212%

Ave Damage: 336 * 3.12 * 3.12 = 3270 fire damage per attack

Lightning:
level 30 Holy Shock 1-1668 (834 ave)
level 37 Lightning Mastery +482%

Ave Damage: 834 * 5.82 * 5.82 = 28249 lightning damage per attack

Magic:
level 20+33syn Bone Spirit 990-1052 (1021 ave) – 30% CTC

Ave Damage: 1021 every 3rd hit I'll make this 340 dmg per hit to make it easy.

total dmg = 3270 + 28249 + 340 = 31859 per hit.

Now with ormus'

level 25 Enchant + lvl 20 warmth (syn) = 285-358 (321 ave)
level 25 Fire Mastery +198%

Ave Damage: 321 *1.15(ormus) * 2.98 * 2.98 = 3278 fire damage per attack

Lightning:
level 30 Holy Shock 1-1668 (834 ave)
level 35 Lightning Mastery +458%

Ave Damage: 834 *1.15(ormus') * 5.58 * 5.58 = 29862 lightning damage per attack

total dmg = 3278 + 29862 + 340 = 33480 per hit

An increase of about 2k dmg.

If you give your merc lvl 16 conviction (I'm not sure if you can increase skills on your merc.) you get another 105% damage increase allthough it is considered negative resistance to foe's.

31859*2.05 = 65310 per hit (with +7)
33480*2.05 = 68634 per hit (with ormus')
you swing about three times per second, so that's
195930 dmg per sec with +skills
205902 dmg per sec with ormus'
assuming you hit every time (getting AR from enchant and -nme def from convict that should work).

In all these calculations I didn't concider:
-getting +enchant on ormus'
-resistances of foe's
-not being sure if the +7 from your equip adds to the lvl 30 holy shock

With ormus' you'll get ~10k more damage, but the +2 armor will keep you safer (Chains of Honor).
There are also two amazing prospects here:
1. You can get e-shield when walking around with the 10 light skillers, which will keep you pretty safe.
2. You can get a beast weapon on switch to turn into a bear! Enchant bears are known to be decent trough the game and in duels, but with this setup you can blow people away.

Negative aspects:
Getting high resistances is really hard. So you might want to consider dropping a skiller or 2.
you can only be this powerfull if you can get all these items.

Anyway.. 200k dmg per sec is pretty promising ;)

Maras/Angelic
110ias/150ar Phase Blade
On Switch - Low Req Beast and liddless
Dream
Bloodfists
Verdungos
2x Soj/2x Angelics
WaterWalks

~8 Lit Skillers, 2x Ar/Life Gcs, Anni, and 9x rw/ar scs

For skills I would focus more on Eshield than on Enchant. The damage it adds doesn't compare at all to the damage from Dreams, and eshield is just too valuable to give up.

20 Light Mastery
20 Enchant
20 Eshield (or if you have a eshield staff ~17)
20 Tk

Enchant is there simply for the AR. Of course all stats will go into energy, after str and Dex for blocking is taken care of.
 
What if u added HOJ weapon + dragon armor for lvl 30 holy fire? would that get boosted by Fire mastery just like Lit mastery boosts dream?
 
Yeah, the Holy Fire aura from Dragon should get the same bonuses from Fire Mastery as Light Mastery/Holy Shock...damn. While an outrageously expensive build, an all runeword Sorc could really kick some serious ***.

My question, and maybe this is just because I'm obsessed with bear sorcs, but why not use a Beast one hander with this build?

I think Passion is better for this build because of the attack speed and the attack ratting...a melee sorc is very low on both of those.

btw. why not take an act 3 mercenary with Duo 'Dragon' and 'Hand of Justice' with this build? True he can't use the aura's himself but you get enough extra dmg to compensate for that, and a mercenary is mostly there to pack the punches, not to deal them anyways.

this would get us a sorc + merc with Enchant, lvl 30+ holy shock Aura and lvl 44+ Holy Fire Aura. Damn melee players must love us...

Doesn't Vengeance convert physical dmg into elemental dmg just like berserk?
It would increase dmg quite a bit because of LM and FM, but it would still cost too much attack speed IMO.

The thing is that with Passion you get 5 frames on zeal, if not you only have 8 frames max, even with Fanatism.
 
Putting Dragon on a merc wouldn't work for you, would it? Holy Fire wouldn't transfer over. Maybe I'm mixing up my runewords.
 
or maybe I am...I'm trying to get one of these baby's in the field to test it but don't have the runes for it so far...this build is just sick on high runes.
