DII Taste Test.

A thought occurred to me as I was giving Alkor the Golden Bird. What exactly does the Potion Of Life taste like? This small pondering led me to think of the other array of potions and antidotes that are on offer in Diablo.

My question to you all is, what do you believe all of the potions in DII taste like? Would health potions have a strawberry tang? Would flavours be stronger or weaker depending on the size of the potion? Would colour dictate flavour, or is that type of logic null and void in the DII world?

Give us your thoughts about the next time you :drink: up :)

Well, the Golden Bird would probably taste something like ash, if you have ever tasted it.

Health Potions would probably taste like Childrens cough syrup or something, nasty but it heal's the pain. Probably the same for mana potions. And the bigger the pot, the more thats in it.

But when it all comes down to it, it might taste just like water, who knows.

The red healing potions are made of a red slightly viscous liquid that more than anything else resembles blood. It even got that awful metallic taste.

There's no liquid in them at all. I mean, have you ever seen your character drink any pots? Not that I have an alternative as to what the character does with them ... :teeth:

Taste is irrelevant in D2 - adventurers don't even need to eat! As for drinkiing versus something else, maybe it's like thrown potions - your character gets it spilled on them :)

If there were flavors though, I would imagine:

Health - blood (as Indemaijinj described)
Mana - some energy drink - Gatorade? Red Bull?
Rejuv - grape, it's gotta be grape
Thawing - pepermint
Antidote - anise (black licorice)
Stamina - milk, of course
Potion of Life - what farting bob said, except with ashes in it :teeth:

Well I always seen rejuv. tasting like my Gatorade. I drink the Frost/Riptide Rush. So the colors are almost exact. Which is why I prefer my character drink them exclusivly..alot of running around in all.

The red/blue ones I always seen as like Kool-Aid. Cherry/BlueBerry maybe.

I figure the Potion of life would be nasty yes. Not like ash, but more like earth materials..maybe Earth..muddy water, w/grainy stuff. :xx:

It works by tasting so bad, you throw up all other the place and go temporarily blind because of the taste, and this makes you appreciate life more, hence gaining 20 HP.

Hmm...in MY diablo2, they taste like....

Health - BloodGrape
Mana - Blueberry
Rejuv - Sweet fruit liquor
Thawing - Vodka
Antidote - I have to go with AE on this one and say anise.
Stamina - Water
Potion of Life - Nectar

:D

One time when i was playing diablo with my friend he said to me :

"You are low on life ! Drink some blood ! "

He was new to diablo , but still..... :uhhuh:

Health - Strawberry
Mana - Blue berry
Rejuv - Grape
Thawing - Habanero juice (hey, we need something burning to thaw you, right?)
Antidote - tasteless, or with a hint of sweet, seeing the bottle is actually transparent.
Stamina - Milk
Potion of Life - I dunno, but something that is yellow green goldish can't taste good. :D

you can taste supositories?(SP?) this way you can ''store'' them and when you need to ''drink'' a pot you just work some muscle and smash instant absorption. frees up your hands for actual fighting

Wait, are you serious? You can actually taste suppositories???

That's the neatest thing I've heard all day.

I have to image that the potions all taste good, because certain NPCs are lazy and don't get gold from kiling monsters. Lysander has nothing to do all day (except talk to you) so he needs to make money from selling...POTIONS! And who's going to drink disgusting potions? Not any of my characters. I'm sure as hell not paying Lysander for blood-flavored health potions...

Therefore:
Stamina potion: Sugar, or maybe Oreo Filling ("The White Stuff")
Antidote: Black Grapes (mmmmmmm)
Thawing Potion: Peppermint (AlterEgo got this one right, for sure)
Health potion: Blood Oranges. (Mmm, I love these)
Mana Potion: Jicama. I don't know many blue foods.
Rejuvenation Potion: Water

Health - Blood. Definately Blood.
Mana - Water. Very fresh, tasty, pure-as-can-be water.
Rejuv - Grape? :cheesy:
Thawing - Banana :D
Antidote - Black Licorice
Stamina - Milk (Hey. Cow King drops stamina pots... it HAS to be.)
Potion of Life - Lemon Lime anyone? Jeeze. So uncreative.

Nobody mentioned Malah's Special Thawing Potion Thingermajigger(No Idea What The Actual Name Is)... I say it would taste like grandma's home cookin'. :teeth:

hmmm... we all know what GG's tip will be next week
in all seriousness i doubt you could actually taste them, having an absence of taste buds down there and all.

i wonder where the NPC's are getting all the blood from...hmm...suspicious if you ask me
