deadly strike & critical strike

Both do the same thing correct? Double damage? How do these values work together? Does it check for one, and if it doesn't proc, check for the other? I'm curious as to how these stack.

That's exactly what happens. Both will never occur at the same time. Also, Critical from the Amazon Skill and Critical from a weapon mastery do not stack. The total chance to do double damage therefor is:

100% - (1 - DS%/100)*(1 - CSw%/100)*(1-CSa%/100)*100%

where

DS% = Deadly Strike in %
CSw% = Critical Strike from a weapon Mastery in %
CSa% = Critical Strike from the amazon skill in % (other classes can get this via the Insight and/or Peace runewords)
