I will most likely not play ladder if there is no patch though. And I'm pretty sure there ain't none :/

Reset was implemented to keep a fresh feeling for players, allowing them all to start over from equel ground. You say its bad for the game, and thats your opinion, your intitled to it.. but your wrong. How long has diablo and diablo 2 been active? The games are still up and being played with a decent amount of players? And if you think Blizzard doesnt care about its players then you probably should stop playing.. heck, check out SOE from games like Everquest 2.. pretty game, great history and had the original Everquest to support it.. but poor implementation from the devs and lack of responses from them = great game that was badly implemented to where it just isnt that good.
Try out the ladder. I dont have much time to play either. But its not hard being wealthy. Sure, you wont be the wealthiest, the dupes and botters will, but the ladder reset doesnt effect that. If they DIDNT reset ladder, you wouldnt be as wealthy as them either, so basically your complaining about something you couldnt obtain anyway. Having 100 HR's worth of equipment.. you godly, there is NO reason to have 900 more unless you run a business selling them, which you shouldnt be since you seem to be so passionate about others doing so. BTW, its going to take more than a few days to see people running around everywhere with 'leet' equipment.
Join 8 player games, level up, run for keys then organs. Then you can either sell them for good prices, or level up another character that can run tristram easier than others (1 pt smiter paladin is good, a there is a guild that lists poor equipment that works) and get torches. Sell those. Collect pgems and sockables (requires no MF so your good there) and sell those. With a little work, your gtg. If you think finding the RAREST armor, or the RAREST rune, or the sweet SoJ is your path to being wealthy, then re-think your strategy. That can make you rich, but not wealthy. Difference there, look it up if you dont know.
What did you learn this ladder? Did you try and run MF runs with a char a couple times a day then log out? Thats not the best way.. that gets you uniques and sets and mabye a good rare, but it takes hundreds of those runs. For the common player, the way I described above will bring in more for your time invested. Shoot.. Rush people if you want, a duel element sorc can do that fast, or a hammerdin can do that with no problems, ablit slower.

WoW is no different. Every time they release a new expansion, all of the old gear that raiders spent hundreds of hours collecting becomes worthless as the bar is raised and the game is re-balanced.
The bottom line is that ANY video game eventually becomes a repetitive waste of time, but that should not matter because we play them for fun. If you are going to quit D2 for something you find to be more fun, by all means.
But do not go to WoW thinking that any of the time you spend playing it will "mean something", because it won't.

I havent seen any official Blizzard word of any update/patches.
So I think this is just a ladder reset. Maybe thell fix a couple of bugs.
So we`ll just have to wait some hours and find out I guess.

Probably a bit OT, but you can trade a torch for pretty much anything, except another Torch. Not sure if you can trade for Anni, or Geeds.
The game certainly lets two people put their torches in the trade window (think when someone shows off their gear), but you can't complete the trade.
Now back on topic:
I made a mistake giving away all my gear to a friend of mine. I say this because I saw how much I accumulated, I literally filled the Rogues camp with items! I should have just deleted the characters... much easier to get over with.
Almost each item there had its own story that I remembered. I either remembered how I got it, or what plans I had with it when I muled it. Seeing all this work and time for a moment there made me reconsider playing Diablo after the reset. Now I am really confused!
Also I like the "real unique" items that I found. There are not unique/sets/Rwords, but the crafted/rare/magic ones. They are probably lost forever now

just as I thought. A "patch" being a nocd that I completely don't need since deamon tools took care of the annoying cd problem ages ago. Great. Why was I dumb enough to even hope they will fix milions of bugs / balance issues that has been reported milions of times.
even if they decided NOT to make any balance changes, I'm certain that the bug fixes would take like a half an hour for a skilled programist to fix. But they completely don't care.

Before you could not place a torch or anni in the trade window. You had to "drop trade" which was a very common way scam people in various ways.

I hear ya, balance changes should have happened, but jed, they helped out the mac users now, we should be happy, even mac users can continue to be upset with the hammerdins, lol;
on a side note, I hate getting bumped to nl for dumb changes :thumbsdown:
..and im also a hammerdin in hiding on my weak days ;-)
