lol @ all the people crying because the D2 ladder is, in fact, a ladder.
I, too, am hoping for a patch. I really want to see something like "instant account ban on dupe detection" on this new season, but what are the odds of that? Ridiculously low, I'd wager. In any case, the few weeks of legit play coming up will be most welcome.

Well it's probable there will be some type of patch released. They've released patches for Starcraft and Warcraft allowing players to run the game without the game disk. This of course was for the launch of the new Blizzard Store, and since the launch Diablo II has "not yet available for download". The only reason I could think of for this is that Blizzard was going to reset the ladder and a patch the game soon.

im back to diablo because the message FIXME (i tried to refresh my 100 chars lol) and im happy to see the dad of all MMO (or rpg?) is alive, look- this post have 11 pages in 2 days... Guild Wars, one of the best games now, look like a copy

Lemme fix this quote for bnet...
This provides a fresh start and new competition for leveling supremacy, for those whom can get their bots up and running the quickest, on the ladder realm.
Sure hope some type of patch is included with this reset that eliminates map hacks, bot's etc... And for those of us that like to play hardcore a change in the way aggression works to curb the ever present TPPK'er that destroys any type of fun community play...

Hopefully my experience of a reset in expansion will better that it was in classic. have you ever been in a game with 8 cold sosos? It was truly ridiculous.

Yeah, just gonna mf and try for ladder ranking but not going to be making pvp chars on ladder anymore since thats what I do on d2 mostly. Anyone else with me

That's a little disappointing, anyone got any advice as to which builds most people seem to go for? (IE, builds to avoid). Last time I only made a cold soso because I'd never tried one before so I was a little miffed (she never did make it past act 1 in hell).

The hidden prize of a ladder reset
Now we're all very excited about the upcoming ladder reset, (if not, you really should be):wink: But what about our last week on the current ladder, it's been pretty crazy so far. Everyone is making a push to gain a position on the ladder, which means literal hordes of hammerdins in the mid-90s baaling like mad. (Seen 5 hammerdins in a single game; accompanied by 3 other paladins). And there seems to be an influx of pkers taking their last chance to get some high level ears on the ladder.
The economy is starting to go nuts, players are selling off some of their best gear in a bid to obtain the best ladder-only equipment for their pvpers on non-ladder. When you look at some trade games it's clear that some players are simply selling off the gear held by that particular character. And the quality of free items has improved markedly:thumbup:
Now while not all of this may be considered good, it is at least different to the usual D2 experience; and I for one relish this bizzare time when we get some variety from the usual gameplay. You get the feeling that the community is truly active (on a large scale) once more, an experience I missed. Hooray for the week before the reset:cloud9:

I find deleting my characters to be empowering. By deleting them, I find that I help disconnect myself a little from my rampant desire for virtual wealth. DAMN this addictive game.

I will be holding a trivia contest to see who deserves to inherit my ladder gear. I wonder what question I'll ask when my self-found -19/+14 griffon's comes onto the intellectual auction block.
