Cruel swords

I've seen a few use them for nostalgic purposes, but those cruel weapons have been rendered obselete by the likes of BotD and Grief.
I believe that some wolves still use old Cruel Mythicals of Quickness, or Cruel (some 2hander) of Quickness, don't they?
I think a Cruel Cryptic sword of quickness with 3 sok when they could be cubed can still be a top fury druid weapon.

Are we talking about the 3 normal / 3 flawless gem recipe? I thought the ilvl was only 30, is that really enough to get Cruel and Quickness? I remember people saying they got those, but I always wondered why those mods didn't have a higher ilvl.
By the way, if I use the armour recipe on a glove or belt or whatever, will it still reroll the magic item? Or does it really mean just body armour?

we're talking about the .09 recipe with 3 chipped gems and a sword

Yes, you can still cube cruels by using the 3 PGem + magical item recipe. Since "cruel" is just a magical mod, there's a chance of getting it.
