Crafting

Ok first a question:
Why do crafted dual leech blood rings have such an insane lvl req. lvl 96. why is it this high? ive crafted 3 of these so far and they've all had this req. is that the lowest they go when they have dual leech?

ok another question:
which crafts are you favourites and which do you use the most?
 
Dunno about the lvl req, but don't think so. I've crafted a couple of double leech but don't think they had such an insane lvl requirement :scared:
About the other question, I craft mostly rings or gloves, both blood. Also amulets once in a while, but I gamble amulets more than crafting. I'd like to try crafting some weapons soon, hoping for that rediculous 510% enhanced damage... :)
 
no, they get lower, usually a combination of mods that push lvl req up so much, wanna post atma readouts?

i like to use the caster ammy and blood ammy recipes, caster more, but i never have enough perfect amethysts :p
 
i sold them all. they all had useless other mods though. like 5% fire res and 7% MF and little things like that,
at the moment im crafting blood zerker and glorious axes. although larzuk is relucant to sell

Weird, the highest mod I see is the min damage one, which is lvl 76....

I'm not sure, but I think crafted items have a level requirement which is HIGHER than the highest mod on them--not sure how the game calculates this! This is completely different to normal rares, whose level requirement is 75% of the highest level mod.

I'm guessing that Thrugg has the exact formula for this... I'm at work right now so I don't have it available but Thrugg explained it too me in the Stats forum a few months ago if you want to go search through that, I have it written down at home.

The required level is not only based on WHAT mods are on an item, but HOW MANY mods come on an item. It isn't a matter of having 6 mods and the highest one is lvl 64 - so the required level becomes 64. The combination of mods SCALES UP - and scales up higher on crafted items than on rare items. If a crafted item and rare had the EXACT same mods, the required level on the crafted would always be higher. So, a dual leech of say 3% life, 3% mana by itself wouldn't be all that high. But a 7% / 7% with 4 other mods (especially plus any skills) would be much higher.

I know that dual leech tends to jack up the required levels. One of my favorite crafts are Safety Amulets - I try to get +2 All Skills with 10% Chance to Block. If I do happen to get that combination with dual leech the required level very often goes up over 96.

This one doesn't have + skills but it is a good example of what happens when a crafted has high resist all with just mediocre dual leech:

I found it...

Edited down from what Thrugg told me:
rlvl for crafts formula:
max(base item rlvl, random mod rlvls) + 10 + (3 * # of random mods)

Since a ring has no base rlvl and a high level craft will always get 4 mods, the formula simplifies down to (highest random mod rlvl + 22).

So, even if the highest mod is only rlvl 65... on a crafted item you'd need to be clvl 87 to use it....

exactly since your using a clvl 91 sorc your likely (ilvl = .5clvl+.5ilvl) to get a high ilvl which inturn allows a high alvl which has high rlvls associated with it. if you want lower rlvls with your duel leech crafted ring I suggest using a much lower character or gambling rings/getting them from a low level character I suggest keeping your crafts ilvl in the lower ranges

these two ranges are nice ranges for lower rlvl crafts with alot of mods.
