Connection Issue

I've been playing D2 for a while now and I don't know if the lag I'm experiencing is due to battle net or my connection. What happens is that I can move around, and the monsters look like their moving, but they stand still. During this time I can't hit them or anything else besides move around. After a couple of seconds, regardless of how far I "moved", I end up back to the original place and I'm taking TONS of damage, haha. This is really annoying when I'm in a tight situation. Any advice for this?

I tried running the game in a window and I think that helps, but I still have the same problem. I hate doing the window format because I often click outside of the game and it minimizes.

Thanks

Re: Connection Issue

The lag is probably due to BNet's antique servers. If there's a particular reason you don't want to die, as in you're playing Hardcore or don't want to take the experience loss, just save and exit. Other than that, all you can do is wait it out.

Your display has nothing to do with internet lag.

It does, however, directly reflect your coolness factor. The smaller the window you play on, the cooler you are.

If there is graphical lag from your machine the window could help, but it sounds to me like this is not the case with what you are experiencing. Graphical lag tends to still allow action to go on just with really bad framerate etc, but you can still access chests or connect with monsters. This happens to everyone periodically, even if you have a good connection, so it's my guess that it's mostly on blizzard's end from utilizing the outdated machines that they've already announced were necessary to keep everything up and running. That, and all of the freaking
