Confused about one of the patch notes

I'm confused about one of the patch notes:

Uber Mephisto now checks for both Uber Baal and Uber Diablo to be killed before spawning summoned minions (Before he would only check for Uber Baal).

and especially the "Before he would only check for Uber Baal" part. That wasn't the case right? i would always kill meph first and he would spawn minions. this note states that he wouldn't spawn minions then. this isn't true right?

I've only ever spawned them one at a time. Maybe if you spawn all three at once, Meph doesn't start making minions until Baal is down.

Or, so long as Baal is alive, Meph doesn't spawn minions, and since we usually spawn Meph only first, Baal isn't "alive".

Heh, wouldnt it be funny if all this time you only needed to charge in foolishly and all those annoying minions would never have spawned...

Would it even be difficult if you only had to face the Ubers alone but all at once, or would Meph's Conviction make UD and UB too tough to tank with LTap?

For sure, if you're not stacked, Mephisto's lightning or blizzard is a 1 or 2hit KO to average 3k life characters, and then you got Diablos powerful attacks, and Baals attacks, which although they are usually crap, they pose a threat with Mephisto's aura on.
