Characters With Base Dexterity

What do those of you who use or have used characters with base dexterity do when it's time to smash the Compelling Orb? Are there any obscure methods of doing this?
 
I dont think that thingy got any defense and level so you're % to hit will be 95% if I am not mistaken.
 
What do you mean? Can you clarify?

I've had several characters with base dex smash the orb in NM and two in Hell. No problems. Khalim's Will has no dex reqs IIRC and I don't think chance to hit matters for smashing the Orb (and also eventually the Soulstone).

Khalim's Will/Flail (whatever) has a dex req of 35 in Normal. If you aren't twinking, etc., and playing with base dex, how do you wield it?

I understand the obvious solutions to this, but I was inquiring about, if any, more obscure/less "expensive" methods of doing this.

Edit 2: I wasn't referring to dexterity in my initial post because of "chance to hit," although I think it may include the Orb because the one char with base dex that I have played, about a year ago, took about 4 swings to hit it. This wasn't my concern, though; I'm sure it always hits, eventually.
 
Are you sure Kalims Will has a dex requirement?

I could swear that I have had a bas dex sorc getting through that quest without problems. She hit it eventually...after a few misses.

Kalims Flail has a requirement if I'm not mistaken, but not Kalims Will

Ah, thank you.

When I played that character I did happen to look at the Flail while it was in my inventory, but never took much notice to the Will having no reqs, so that would explain it.
