I've built my sorc and is at level 75 doing hell meph runs. I've gone with a cold act2 merc. But gear wise whats the better way. I was thinking:

Bonehew (amnamn)
And this armor i made
If you stay with the bonehew, then sheal/amn.
But i prefer (eth)Reapers Toll, for the aura, with sheal.
But for ELL MEPH, your merc is mainly for blocking, tanking, damage is then not an issue, you will kill him fast enough with blizzard.
You can consider kelpies snare, for great slow.
Don't discount Act 5 mercs. I know people think they need the aura of an A2 merc to do things, but that's because they haven't tried other ones.
Granted, A2 mercs have their uses, but when you just want someone who can tank AND someone who can draw monsters to them (Blizzard was MADE for tightly packed crowds), the Act 5 merc does nice, and usually better damage too.
Great for when you find those Ethereal Headstrikers that you think you'll never use!

My guess is your teleporting to close to them. Teleport just inside the house and try and pack them together - glaical ice and then blizzard. If you had an act 2 or 5 merc it'd be so much easier because they can get the aggro whilst you blizzard them away.
If Kelpie is used on holy freeze merc, monster pretty much halt in there tracks... its the same thing with Reapers Toll kinda... because Decrep charges go off so very often.
The only bad thing about Reaper's is that they decrip can override the lower resist I cast on meph with my weapon-switch wand. Of course, if your build is fast enough at killing to not need the LR wand, I'd go with Reaper's above anything.
