Better drops nighttime?

I have noticed that I get alot better drops at night, is that something that is just luck, or is that true? ^^

My first mal rune I found in a chest before school, at 6 am or something, and almost every rune I find is around 4-7 am. Anyone else that has thought so?

Re: Better drops nighttime?

It's just your luck, drops aren't better at any time of day.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

I just adjust my computer's clock so that it thinks it's 1:38 am (the best time). I close the game and set it back to 1:38 every 2 or 3 hours.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

i use a batch file to stop time while i play

stop time.bat
Code:
:one
time 01:30:00
goto one

Re: Better drops nighttime?

Does this really work?

:scratchchin:

Using a batch file to stop time, I mean. I'm sure my boss uses one at work.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

You get the best drops under the second full moon of the month.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

I've found that the best timeframe to find items is somewhere between 12:00am and 11:59pm on any given day.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

Except when they switch to daylight saving time. Then it's the other way around.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

some games have easter eggs that only appear on specific dates, christmas/easter/turkey day/new years ect..
afik d2 doesnt

Re: Better drops nighttime?

well, if you are superstitious, try activating the gem in the channels for more gem drops :D

you know i believe that for every time that anyone activates that gem,
the release date for diablo3 is set back one day.

Re: Better drops nighttime?

This sounds odd but I noticed a long time ago that every new character tends to find specific items more often than others. So far every character I ever made managed to find 2 class-specific items (aka druid finding barb/assasin stuff, necro finding sorc/java stuff), and seems to be pretty random from the start.

My necro from the last ladder found more flamebellow/frostwind swords than I can remember... he found every single sword (except Azurewrath) in the game, within only a month's time. It was weird...

my current necro tends to find a load of barbarian stuff, and mid-runes a lot (Puls, Fals, Ums, Lems etc). Which makes me happy since I love finding runes <3

Re: Better drops nighttime?

Wise frog say: when you play any class you are much more likely to find stuff liked by other class than the one you are playing.

Oh great, now you ruined the surprise for everyone. Thanks.:whistleblower:

Also I'm pretty sure that night time hours just negate the hidden -1%mf penalty you get from each time you give away a free item and someone says "oh it's low"

Eh, few know that people are doing it wrong, to get the gem secret you must activate it whenever you hear the roar (you know what I am talking about if you spent enough time in a channel/looking at games) and you have to do this 10 times in a row, also you must deactivate it right as the music ends. You'll get 10 free unique rings/amus drops in the next game you make also.

if you do this with music muted and still get the timing right every single normal mob will drop standard of heroes, champions will drop gheeds and uniques will drop anhi and superuniques will drop torch... Act bosses will give items that were removed from the game (including that superhigh all res ring).

I agree. But it's always specific items you find more often than others. My current sc necro finds mid runes a lot more than any of my other chars. My HC necro finds necro stuff and sorc orbs more often. My old druid had a ring fetish, he found dozens of dwarfstar rings. Assassin? Found barb items more than anything.

I'm just nearly 100% convinced that when you start a new char, you get a certain invisible itemfind roll that determins what kind of items you find more often. It's just too much "coincidence" with my chars to deny it.
