I have a prejudice toward hybrids. I feel like they won't do enough damage, especially with mediocre gear.

Pardon my noobility, what is AT running ?

Well, the thing is that a full tals is dirt cheap compared to uniques+RWs. The only thing thats hard to get is the armor which is still far less expensive than a Hoto or a maras or a soj etc etc.

Regarding ATs; Ancient Tunnels (act2, lost city) and The Pit (act1, tamoe highlands) along with worldstone champer 3 are highest area levels in the game and any item in the game can drop in there (the really high ones only from champions though).

The pit has a mix of all 3 immunities while tunnels have only fire and light ones so its an ideal place for a Blizz sorc to farm. Theres still a miniscule chance that a champion boss will spawn with cold immunity but thats about it. Nothing your merc can't handle.

Fire sorc. Just use moattrick and bomb him with meteor and andy goes down so fast with a fire sorc, I can even kill her naked

it is not about killing meph, its all about getting to her!

for meph using a risin sun amulet gives you so much fire absorb you can't be killed from the council; it actually heals you.

if you're only doing meph this could be an option; but rising sun isn't so great for mf other than survivability

Someone said Blizzard sorc was useless for anything else other than running Meph,

Blizz sorc can run andy too I'm pretty sure >.>

I also ocassionally did Baal, but my patience grew thin from waiting for Round 2 to die.

Oh, and I never ran Baal if OK's spawned anyway, on my Blizz sorc.


Blizz sorc kills him in seconds, although safety can be an issue if you get lazy like me and don't dodge orbs. Personally, I won't be making a pure blizz sorc next ladder, I think it's time to break tradition :x

Fire & Lightning. Moat tricking should remove any chance of you getting hit by meph's psn, and cold is only if you can't walk out of the way of Meph's orbs lol. I personally think loads of FCR/HP is slightly more important than resists, but that's b/c of I'm scared to death of exploding dolls.

On a hybrid sorc, is blizzard worth it if you have a decent number of +skills (say, 10?)

That is, in a build like:

20 Blizzard
10 CM
10 *synergy

Then say the rest in CB / Lit / Mastery

20 CB
20 Lightning
20 lit mastery

Or would the build be better in general with frozen orb instead of blizzard?

I want to make a sorc for running Countess, Summoner and meph. But I cant decide on how to make her. I've never made a blizzard sorc because I cant justify a single element sorceress, but I kind of want something that will be good for key hunting and mfing in a more general sense, without resorting to the old staple of frozen orb.

I am building a pure cold sorc atm, was wondering if I could use it or hell cows & maybe one or two other places effectively?

Her final skills are gonna be something like:
20 bolt
20 blast
1 spike
20 blizz
20 orb
10 CM

With 1 point warmth, static & teleport.

She has owned right thru NM so far with max bolt & FO, I know hell is gonna be almost impossible without a second skill. Was planning to use her for socketable/rune hunting, so would she be powerfull enough for hell cows/AT & maybe meph too?
