I left an eth berserker axe on the ground... didn´t belive it was worth a s*** becouse it was... eth :buddies:
My best rune was Ohm found in Halls of Destruction in .09
In .10 - Gul - Hellforge, Ist and a couple of Mals - Countess
 
In order of appearance (all 1.10):

Mal: From casket on my way down to Andarial

Ber: Pit level 1 :clap: I think it might have been a melee monster. Difficult to know for sure when you're strafing away.

Gul: Plains of Despair (Questing. Later in the same game I got Um from hell forge)

Lo: Pit level 2

various Gul's and Um's from 09 hellforge, Ohm from one of pindles minions in 09 and Ohm in the pit in 1.10. My bro found an Ist in an 09 cow game once too.
 
Um is the highest I've gotten from Hellforge. (1.10)
Sur from the Council Members in Durance Level 3. (1.10)

1.09 : several guls ( mostly from pindleskelletons ) and a ZOD in cow!! You should try to feel how it is to find this! :D

1.10 : Gul ist um pul ( from councils travincal, might be in 2xx runs though :/ ) LO rune in Disused relique ( got screenshot :) )
 
played since classic came out, (ya i know there werent runes in classic) but i play alot, i have a 92 1/2 hammerdin on ladder west, and a few other lvl 90 or so ladder chars, ... with that said ...
my best is mal from forge
non-forge is mal in pits, below that is like lum i think from countess ... (runes dont like me)
 
Bremm dropped me an Ist the other day. Which was kind of him and last weekend at the entrance to Durance 3 I popped a chest and a Lo rune dropped :jig:

Unfortunately in a moment of pure stupid greed I'd already put the Ist into my necro pitrunner's arm of king loric. Doh! I could have made Delirium :bonk:
 
i saw a mal drop in chaos sanctuary (didnt get tho)
highest is proabaly io lol from nm cows in .09 (not including hellforges, which have all sucked except um)
 
I just got back into D2 after a long off-period... Started 1 ladder char, got her up to lvl 85 (assassin), and the best I got was an Um from a hell Arcane Sanctuary chest. I finally got to the Hell Hellforge, and got a Lem for all my trouble. Withing 1 minute of finding that Lem (I kid you not), I went into Durance of Hate, level 2, opened the first chest I came across and out pops another Lem.

Sheesh.

Beyond that, I don't find many good ones. I cube up. Best I've cubed up to so far is Io.
 
Best is Vex right after 1.09 in a bloody foothills run (remember those runs?) from a chest.

About 8-10 Ums all from hell hellforge. Also a Gul 2 Ists and a Mal or two I think.

An Ist and a Lo from some lame place that I don't remember. The Lo was pit run maybe.

Lo is highest, Vex is most valuable.
