Best Pally build to run Hell Meph/Diablo/Baal?

Me and my friend is arguing on which is the best build to solo run Hell Mephisto / Diablo / Baal.

Is it a Hammerdin, 1pt smiter or some other build? (Let's say that they are decently geared already)

ex. 1pt smiter gear is: (I know this is the gear for uber trist but say the level of gear is this high already)

Weapon = Grief Phase Blade
Helm = Guillaume's Face
Boots = Gore Rider
Gloves = Draculus Grasp
Armor = Fortitude (or COH)
Shield = HOZ
Amulet = Metalgrid
Belt = Verdungos
Ring = BK rings / Ring with CBF
---------------------------------------

Hammerdin (Is this the best gear or would you replace something else)

Weapon = Heart of the Oak (KoVexPulThul)
Weapon2 = Call to Arms (AmnRalMalIstOhm)
Head = Harlequin Crest
Boots = Sandstorm Trek
Gloves = Magefist
Armor = Enigma (JahIthBer)
Shield = Spirit Sacred Targe
Amulet = Mara’s Kaleidoscope
Belt = Arachnid Mesh
Rings = Stone of Jordans x 2

What would you say would be the best build that could SOLO run hell and kill each boss the fastest / safest with a high success rate?

Yes, I hate myself for saying that.

Smiter will have big problems with Iron Mayden.

Hammerdin, he's probably not as fast as a Smiter with CB when taking down bosses but for anything else he'll be much faster, it also helps that it's quite easy as a Hammerdin to get some decent MF without sacrificing killing speed (Enigma, Shako and a Gheeds alone have about 200 MF).

If I did my numbers right your Hammerdin build only has 115 fcr, you should aim for either 75 or 125. You could switch a SoJ for a fcr ring or get a +2 pala fcr amu instead of Mara's for example.

Thanks. Would it be better to just get 75fcr and invest the rest to MF items? or should i shoot for 125fcr? is the difference from 72 to 125 fcr big? will my mana hold the fast cast rate of a 125 fcr by the way?

I find 75 fcr enough for PvM and makes it easier to use more MF (Chanceguards instead of Magefist would be an example), but if you can get 125 without much effort go for it (the difference is 1 frame in casting speed, or 1/25 of a second), the damage per second while casting hammers is pretty similar but it makes a difference when you're teleporting around. I'd suggest an act2 merc with an Insight polearm to solve all your mana issues, whichever breakpoint you're aiming for!

what gear would be best for a hammerdin to reach 125FCR and still have a decent amount of MF? (considering that you also hit the cap for FHR/Block/etc)

BUT, I personally don't run MFers with a lot of MF%, so my 125 hdin runs almost full war wear (mf from shako, travs and gheeds is okay imo).

Hammerdin by far. Mara's is what I used on my Hdin awhile back, got him to 99 so yeah I'd say it'll do. Used SoJx2 for my rings, but kept around a Ravenfrost in my bag.

I meant that, if damage was more valuable than MF to you at that point, subbing Wizzy for HotO and using a FCR ring would net you more dmg AND more MF than if you took both Nagels off for SoJs.

If you use Mara's swap Chancies for Magies to keep 125 bp.

Hammerdin is the best in pvm hands down. About every other build is useless without a merc but not the hammerdin.
