i recently found a 8% ed 4 sock eth champion sword. would this make a good oath or should i find some other sword? i have close to zero experience with melee builds, have only ever played an IK barb and a fury druid. so walk me through it it might be mid lvl pvp or something.

I made an oath out of a champions sword it wasnt as great as the one i made out of a balrog sword so if you want to make an oath make it out of a eth Balrog sword then it will be godly--LG

most of the 2 handed sword have a avarge 1 handed damage of eather 40's some thing or 30's some things.

Ya you want the higher damage weapons but a good note for your champion sword is that it has the lowest amount of stats needed for str and second to the lowest amount of dex needed too.

Also depends on what combat skill you are using to dish out damage with WW - Balrog/Highland sweet. Concentrate/Beserk/bash/etc : Champion fastest so least ias needed to hit 9FPA so you could use less ias gear and more damaging stuff Oh and the 2-h dmg range in champion swords is kindda sweet too hehe

Did u consider an option to use axes?, i am using an ettin oath and works nice

About swords; champion has good avarage dmg, speed and low stats req.
Bb need 17x strent, i would not use it anyway for a character that is over lvl 65. Until lvl 65 oath highland blade rox.

Champion sword is a poor choice for Oath. The damage is way too low even with 8 ed. Try to trade for an eth BB. For dual wield axes are far superior because of the low dex req.
