Baldur's Gate Mafia Game

Gah. Guess it's claim time since I was outed good.

I'm a tracker. Kivan I think is the name.

N1 I tracked crawlingdeadman. CDM did not target anyone last night. CDM was mentioned by name as my tracking target.

End Of Day 1

With the fear palpable in Silvershield Estate, the mansion was placed on lockdown. Dozens of guards were summoned to make sure no one enters or leaves the estate. All rooms were thoroughly searched and all guests and staff were rounded up in the magnificent entrance hall.

“There is no place more appropriate to conduct our investigation than here overlooking the statue of the founder of our city” said the Grand Inquisitor.

“The evil amongst us is great and we all need to stand together to conquer it. Fortunately for us all, I know the identity of evil in this room”

Everyone looked around at each other with suspicion in their eyes.

Holding up a ring made of Bone and plated with gold, he continued, “My investigators found this ring next to the body of the Drixx.” Our Diviners determine that it is one of two sets of rings belonging to a mage.

There was no mistaking it. As glaring as the sun, a gold ring was visible on the hand of the man standing among the crowd.

“Kindly show us your ring, kestegs” asked the Inquisitor with no trace of a smile on his face.

Kestegs looked uncomfortable. “Here. But it is not what you are looking for.”

The Inquisitor looked at the ring, holding it side by side to the one he showed earlier.

“I am afraid that it matches. What were you doing in Drixx’s room?”

kestegs was solemn. “It was not me! I have no idea.”

The Grand Inquisitor was having none of it. He motioned to his guards.

Amidst frantic cheers from the rest, and continued protests from kestegs, four guards took him and placed him against the wall opposite the statue of Balduran.

“Any last words, evil one?”

Kestegs smirked. “You think you won? You and the rest of this pathetic town has no chance.”

The Grand Inquisitor began chanting. Everyone was entranced at the events unfolding. Kestegs stood motionless against the wall. What seemed like an eternity for everyone a gray beam around a foot in length shot from the hand of the Grand Inquisitor.

Kestegs had no time to blink. From head to toe he was instantly turned to stone. He now resembled the statue that was not three feet away from him. The grand inquisitor pushed over the now petrified kestegs. He fell on the marble floor shattering into dozens of grey pieces.

The guests were in a frenzy. They demanded more.

“If evil had been invited to this party, there must be more!”

All were in agreement. Whether it was something he said or an impression he gave off, pharphis was suddenly accused of being part of the evil. He protested vehemently, denying any part in the plot against the city.

“How can you any of you accuse me of these terrible things “ a clearly shaken and shocked Pharphis stated.

“Please, come to your senses and listen to reason.”

But it was all in vain. Everyone was convinced and there was no turning back. With the help of his guards, and under the ecstatic cheers of the crowd baying for his blood, pharphis was surrounded in a circle.

The grand Inquisitor began chanting once more. A circular beam slowly formed from his hands. Pharphis was terrified having seen what happened to kestegs but there was nothing he could do. He closed his eyes.

A blue beam shot out of the circle catching pharphis on the chest. Within a split second, he was disinetegrated and turned to dust.

Kestegs has been been lynched. He was Kangaxx, JOAT Mage. Mafia. Anti Town.
Pharphis has been lynched. He was Sendai. Watcher. Mafia. Anti Town.

Zemaj has been modkilled. He was Safana, Bus Driver. Town. Pro Town.
Smancer has been modkilled. He was Solaufein, Name Cop. Town. Pro Town.

It is now Night 2. Day 2 will start in 24 Hours.

Please submit Night Actions to me as soon as possible.

Please keep in mind that the deadline for submitting is no later than one hour before the start of the Day Phase.

DAY 2:

He ran. He did know how this could have turned into such a nightmare in such a short space of time but it did. And now he had to run to keep himself alive. It was like out of the worst nightmares one could ever get. But no time to debate the voices in his head now.

As the sweat poured off his face, he could only watch his step. The branches in this forest had grown to monstrous proportions since his last visit. Blackened edges stood out in every turn like the crooked fingers of the warlock in the city, now so far away.

With every passing day it seemed the Cloakwood Forest had become a menace. Usually such a cheerful place, this was no sanctuary now. He wondered if he had made a mistake or if everything was as inevitable as it seemed.

Laarz paused to stop for breath. “Get these thoughts out of your head” he scolded himself. Perhaps whatever is pursuing him is gone now?

A sudden, intense pain brought a flash of white before his eyes. He felt dizzy and saw the arrow lodged in his arm. He instantly recognised the metal. It was made of adamantite, the colour of a plum and as sharp as a razor. Panicking with fear, he tried to run once more. He managed to take two steps before a second arrow pierced his heart.

Sitting upon the shore of the vast lake, the man decided that there was no time like the present to ponder the events of the last few days. The endless, hypnotic rhythm of the waves had mesmerized him and his head was filled with thoughts he could not keep out. What would have happened if things were different? What had drawn me to this place? Baldur’s Gate, the great mystery.

He heard a faint noise behind him.

Expecting to see a squirrel or a racoon he turned around. There was nothing but the rattling of the trees in the distance concealing the dark woods they shelter. Come to think of it, there was no animal life to be heard in around him. Usually there would be birds flying overhead, going to a destination only they knew. Crickets would be chirping around him in the luscious acres of green grass. But nothing today. Everything was so silent he could hear his heartbeat clearly. It was almost like there was nothing around him, sucked into a chasm leaving him alone.

His arms broke out in goosebumps. He began to be afraid. It was an irrational fear, he reasoned. There was nothing around him for miles. But the fear would not subside. Getting to his feet, Pyrotechnician was struck with the thought that he needed to leave the shore or something terrible would befall him. He looked around intensely. He felt he was not alone.

Walking briskly to his cabin, a sudden movement caught his eye. It was up ahead. A figure crouched between the logs. Pyrotechnician stopped in his tracks and drew his sword. The figure stood up and lifted its hands in the air. Letting out a scream so bloodcurdling, Pyrotechnican’s went numb with fear. As sudden as the wind, the figure rushed towards him. Pyrotechnican could only manage a swift strike at his assailant lunged at him taking both to the ground.

Trying to fight back but to no avail, the figure snapped Pyrotechnican’s neck like a twig.

Laarz has been killed.
Pyrotechnician has been killed.

It is now Day 2 for the next 48 Hours. With 14 players alive, it takes 7 votes to lynch and 8 to lock the lynch.

Jcakes replaces Ankeli

The mod kills of two characters with abilities is a real blow (although I'm not clear on what "Name Cop" means exactly). Losing two more last night also stinks. Quick question, is there a way to know if both were town? Or do we assume they were? One has to be town, correct?

Today, I'd like to know about Coju. Some shady stuff going on including naming himself in a list of people we should lynch. Pharphis from that list turns out to be scum. Then this happened:

Btw, Pharphis, cG, coju, ghwaihir, and bipolar are all scum. You should lynch them all.
Yes, I agree, wholeheartedly.

Me too, Brother! /solid

Unvote 2: Caluin Graye
Vote 2: pharphis

What's your deal, coju?

Vote: coju

I think it's more likely that coju is trying to get himself lynched. He may be the village idiot. It depends on the game. Some mods let us know identities of those dead and some don't.

I'm not sure who to lynch today, frankly. BPC is now safe in my eyes because pharphis kept suggesting to lynch him and he was mafia.

I'll check back in later tonight. I have classes from 5:30 to 9:30.

It really stinks, huh? lamist much?

No, unless we have some sort of coroner role in the game (a person that can investigate dead people), we cannot know their allignment or roll unless the killer (or somebody else who for some reason know their role) comes forward. Since we have two kills on two consecutive nights, assuming we have more than one anti-town fraction (a common set-up in our games is SK and mafia) isn't too much of a stretch (ofc there are other possibilities), so assuming both NKed persons are town is also dangerous.

The name cop I have seen before has been an investigative role that got the role name of his/her target upon investigation.

Trying to distance yourself from your teammates when you see a lynch coming wouldn't exactly be a revolutionary scum approach.

But then again, I've never played this game. He could also potentially be scum, but I have no idea at this point.

I don't want to just jump in and say anyone is obviously this or that. I agree with FoE, distancing from teammates is a good plan but specifically calling out someone is weird. I wouldn't put it past someone to do this to either target a player or just attempt to stir up s*** the next day.

Just wondering, who told you to track me? Who'd you track last night and what happened (since you're outed, wouldn't it be okay to tell everyone)? Why aren't you dead from last night, wouldn't a tracker be a good target for the mafia?

It really stinks, huh? lamist much?
Dunno what that is. Proof I googled it.

I couldn't tell if phar was trying to push us on to or off of BPC or just trying to sow chaos right before he swung.

I don't think he's dead because Pyro outed phar pretty quick. Maybe mafia thought he had some inside knowledge, but who knows. Pyro had a bit of a target on his back after yesterday and it seems like that could have done him in, in the end.

I couldn't tell if phar was trying to push us on to or off of BPC or just trying to sow chaos right before he swung.

Now obviously I'm kind of fighting for my own name here, but I wanna say it was him just starting some chaos. Trying to distance from his own team should probably not involve something so blunt.

Gory not being killed though surprises me a little bit. If the mafia is going after a large target, why not after Gory? So far, the game seems very power role heavy and it is quite possible they knew something more about pyro.

Sounds like pharphis to pull a wifom action.
As for hearing from me, just having fun. Not trying to get lynched but wouldn't be messed up if it happened.
On the road now, not able to give my hunt specs atm.
