Baldur's Gate Mafia Game

Is lynching Bad Ash twice an option?
Is it, Solar?

This was actually a legitimate concern earlier on in the thread (ie 1x lynch immunes).

If we double lock someone does that mean we hang their body twice or do we just use 2 ropes? This is all becoming pretty funny to think about.

If the Town gains the extra lynch reward, the extra lynch rules would be posted at the start of Day 1.

The overwhelming votes are for moar, but I don't think it is so. Obviously the dragons red eyes and fire breath was from piping hot cherry pie.

Pie is cake's evil nephew.

Dragonhunt: Jcakes

Can't believe no one has made that connection yet.

Twilight End:

Those under scrutiny stood in the center of the City Hall surrounded by a dozen guards. The Mayor walked up to them.

“The Oracle has never been wrong. Which one of you is the Dragon?” None of the five moved an inch.

The Mayor unsheathed his sword and pointed it at Jcakes. “I will not repeat myself.”

“It is not me!” he solemnly said.

“Really? And, pray tell, why should we believe you?” the Mayor sarcastically asked.

Voices rose from the crowd, almost in unison “It’s her! It is Moar! Her blood runs green!”

A wild cheer rose from the city Hall. Moar’s expression gave nothing away.

“You fools. Do you really think that if I was the Dragon, I would come to this wretched place?”, Moar replied, walking towards the crowd.

But there was no persuading the crowd. “You torched our Inn!” Let us see her blood!”

Amidst frenzied cheers, several guards unsheathed their swords ready to strike. Moar stepped back.

“You have been identified as the Dragon by the citizens in this Hall. Prepare to meet your maker.”

Before anyone could react, the Mayor made one swift strike with his sword towards Moar. She dodged the blow but the tip of his sword cut her arm, turning her cloak from navy blue to jade.

The crowd cheered.

Moar smiled. “Are you strong enough?”

With what seemed like the speed of light she lifted her hands towards crowd. A pulsating stream of fire shot towards her captors. The flame struck two guards who fell to the floor ablaze. Some tried to help the guards but most scattered in panic.

The Mayor, however, kept his cool. With swift precision, he plunged his sword in Moar’s back.

Moar has been lynched. She was the Red Dragon.

It is now Night 1. Day 1 will start in 24 Hours.

Please submit Night Actions to me as soon as possible.

DAY 1:

The mood amongst the citizens of Baldur’s Gate was upbeat after the slaying of the Dragon. Could things return to normalcy with that fortunate event? Many seemed to think so and a grand celebration was held in the city. A fine venue was chosen in none other than the grand Silvershield Estate.

Walking through the door of the mansion, one could see magnificent artwork hanging on the wall, some of which was nearly 100 years in age. In the vast corridors of the manor, great pillars of grey marble adorned the sides of the hall. The entrance hall contained a statue dedicated to the founder of Baldur’s Gate.

There was no shortage of Mead and everyone was welcome to join. For some an event such as this was a regular occurrence, some had never experienced anything and were overwhelmed by the occasion but their tongues were loosened by strong De’ Tranion’s Ale, a rare and expensive brand of drink but all on the house for today, and there were no shortage of those willing to take advantage of that fact.

“By Tyr, only good fortune may come to us now given our victory yesterday” one nobleman mused.

“Aye. It was certainly a change from the gloom that we have been subjected to lately” his friend replied.

A waitress approached the two men. “Another drink, M’lord?”

“Why that would be splendid! And one for my companion here as well, please”

Taking a sip, the guest suddenly spat out the Ale. “Ugh. This is not what I usually drink! What is the meaning of this!”

Upon closer examination, the liquid in the mug was rust in colour.

“Waitress, where did you get this Ale?”

The flustered server was apologetic. “I..I am sorry M’lord. There must be some mistake. I have poured the Ale straight from the main keg in the cellar. We just finished the other keg. It is none other than De’tranion’s Ale”

“No, this is not. I know exactly what De’tranion’s Ale looks and taste like. Take me to the cellar!”
Arriving at the cellar, the two men and the waitress were looking at the main ale keg. It was large enough to hold enough pints of entertain the entire Manor.

Upon opening the tap, all were horrified Nobleman opened the tap, crimson liquid gushed out of the tap.

“Blood. By Tyr, it is blood!”

The horrified waitress screamed.

The Nobleman took an axe and smashed the keg until it splintered into pieces, covering himself with the offending liquid.

A body lay on the floor. It was none other than thefranklin, a renowned citizen of Baldur’s Gate. His neck was slashed and wrists tied up. He looked to have been killed and immediately put into the keg.

“Lathander have mercy on us all”

“Where is the Lord of the Manor? He needs to be informed about this and no one has seen him today.” the Nobleman’s stunned companion asked.

The butler rushed into the cellar, greeted by the sight of bloodied ale and the frightened guests.

“Another one! What is going on here?”

“What did you just say?” The three looked at him in disbelief.

The Butler looked gravely sad. “We have just discovered the body of Drixx, the lord of the Manor in his room. He was decapitated.

He continued. “Silvershield Estate has been placed on lockdown. This horror will stop.”

There was a noticeable lack of conviction in his voice.

Drixx has been killed.
thefranklin has been killed.

The list of players that targeted Drixx on Night 1 (alphabetical order):

It is now Day 1 for the next 48 Hours. With 20 players alive, it takes 10 votes to lynch and 11 to lock the lynch.

(A reminder that stories are for flavour purposes only. Nothing should be read into them.)

The Dragonhunt reward

Players may cast an additional lynch vote Today. Please cast the vote, in bold, in the following format:

Vote: Solar Ice

Vote 2: Solar Ice

Rules:

- It is not required to vote for either the ”normal” Vote or Vote 2.
- The same lynch and lock rules apply for vote 2 as for the “normal” Vote .
- You may unvote as usual.
- You may cast a vote for the same player in both votes but take note that both votes are treated separately for the purposes of determining a lynch. Should the same player be lynched via both votes, they will effectively be lynched twice.
- A space is required between “Vote” and “2” for the vote to count.

That second vote really comes in handy here now doesn't it.

Vote: Kestegs

Can't see beyond mafia kegs.

Vote 2: Goryani

For my peace of mind.

I would like to hear an explanation from kesticle before I condemn him. How could anyone possibly think you're not mafia now?

@ the room at large: excuse my newbness, but where is this information coming from? I know Solar told us, but I thought that kind of information ("was targeted by") was unknown to players most of the time.

In the mean time because he's done way too many posts that were "here look at this and don't talk about anything relevant." Too much BS. Too much wall of text maths that didn't really seem to matter.

Vote: Jason Maher

Kestegs does seem like an obvious choice, but it seems almost too obvious. If we're going to be served up mafia names every night they target someone, it's going to be an awfully short and easy game. I'll withhold my votes for the moment.

It seems likely that kegs is scum, but ofc we should wait to at least hear something from him, or perhaps give him half the day to say something.

@cdm
Yeah, I wonder if it was a 1x ability or an ability triggered by Drixx's death. Regardless, I don't think it will happen again.

finished all 11 tests this term! Time to sleep

So kestegs, was Drixx a Party Host?

It looks like the info given by a Party Host. I've seen the role a couple times but not the effects. Hmmm, can't find a wiki entry on Party Host - another name perhaps? If a party host is killed at night, all players who targeted the party host will be announced at the start of the next day. There are probably other roles/scenarios which might give that info, but Party Host is the first that comes to mind.

Quoting past roles that give similar infoz:
25. Party Host - If you are killed at night a list of everyone who targeted/visited you that night will be posted. It will be alphabetical, and with no indication of what was done to you.

8c Gnome Shopkeeper: You are a gnome shopkeeper. On the night of your death your store ledger will be published indicating who visited your shop. This list will be alphabetical and no indication of what was done to you will be included.

I'll hold on to vote two for now.

Do you have thoughts to share on who might end up befitting to receive your second vote? General impressions and the such?

In the mean time because he's done way too many posts that were "here look at this and don't talk about anything relevant." Too much BS. Too much wall of text maths that didn't really seem to matter.

Normally I encourage this line of reasoning (and follow it often enough myself), but I don't think it's applicable to twilight phase banter.

What gives you reason to believe that this particular effect would be repeated?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe I was the first to introduce the role to the D2 forums. I poached it off a game I read a long time ago on the SA forums, and I'm fairly certain it was a made up role there. I don't think you'll find it as a standard role on the wiki sites.

Do you think that kegs killed Drixx?

What gives you reason to believe that this particular effect would be repeated?

None at all, obviously. We have one night to work with, and it's happened once. So, at this point it seems impossible to tell with any degree of certainty that it won't ever happen again, or that it will happen every night. Or that it will happen randomly. If it's a one time event, it seems awfully coincidental that it happens on night one, but I guess it's just as likely as any other given night.
