Baalthon
On a whim, and with Pindlethon 5 in the voting stages we need something to fill this gap in March.
What could be more gratifying than having a tournament based around finds at a place where you spend your time trying to become a higher level.
Rules
1) Count your Baal Runs! Silospen has a great Run Counter. Stop at 1500!
2) The tournament starts March 6th 2009 and ends on June 6th 2009
3) After you finish 500 runs up to how much you would like, you should post your best 5 items with full readouts. It could be uniques, jewels, runes, rares, magic items, whatever you choose. The voting for winner will be based on these 5 items.
4) The winner is the one who gets the most votes from other participants for the best items (depends on usefulness and rarity), only tourney participants would have completed at least 500 runs can vote.
5) The prize: SPF immortality. Bragging rights. And everyone gets to keep the items you find.
6) Only drops from the 5 waves and Baal count, nothing from WSK or in the throne besides the waves.
7) Only accepted versions are 1.10, 1.11, and 1.12. Once accepted mods are RWM, RRM, CRM (Please state if you are CRM). FE mod is not acceptable, and also drop mods and other. Only legit characters. You can use different characters if you want.
8) You have until 11:59:59 or 23:59:59 on June 8th Forum Time (+1 GMT) to post your finds from at least 500 runs. Voting will start on the 10th of June and will go until the 15th of June with the final tally on the 17th of June.
9a) Voters will name 3 participants, in order of preference. Top participant gets 3 points, next best gets 2 and the third in the list gets 1 point. Points will be added up and the one with the most is the winner. A tie would mean joint winners.
9b) I'm also open to the thought of having another vote for who was the unluckiest in their 500+ runs. Not for shame, but it could be interesting.
11) You are strongly encouraged to post your finds as you go along. The Baalthon doesn't use a scoring system like the MFOs, so there's no telling whether a particular find is going to get someone votes. Posting finds tends to encourage everyone.
12) You can join this tournament at any time during the two month period.
13) Only Baal runs completed by you solo, that excludes any sort of MP including quest bugging Baal. (having a character who hasn't completed the final quest make the game.)
14) Any game your character goes into during your run time, is considered to be a run. If you were to die and leave, that counts as a run. Gloams everywhere? that counts as a run as well even if you leave.

Credit to most of the 14 rules from Cygnus' Pindlethon 5.
For those that aren't familiar with updating the scoring/tracking table on their own, nubikoen wrote a very nice guide here. Please read it and give it a try. thanks sirpoopsalot

For those looking at this wondering "How is this possible".. I've decided to bring math, yes math into the equation..... This isn't to scare you, though it will.
To reach the goal of 500 runs in a 32 day period (including all the time on the final day) it becomes an average of 16 runs per day. We'll use 5 minutes as the average time, for 500 runs at 5 minutes average each you spend 2500 minutes or 41 hours and 35 minutes..
If you were to run all 1500 runs, you're spending roughly 7500 minutes or 125 Hours (5 and a few days).
Good Luck!
