Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Oh, it's just that I already wrote out where my D2 stuff was.

Error

Cannot create backup dir C:\Program(x86)\Diablo\Save\Gomule.backup\W2012.05.20

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

If you inspect the permissions on the save folder and click on "Advanced", do you see your user having full control of "This folder, subfolders and files"?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I am brand new the SP forums, but have been playing D2C/D2X since their respective releases. I am having issues opening GoMule. I updated my java, and am receiving the following error when doubling clicking the gomule jar file:

Error

Any ideas?
I looked through about 40 pages and never found this exact problem. I am running Windows 7 and am also not the most computer literate. Willing to learn though.

Thanks guys. Hope to be a part of this great community.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Welcome to the forums and thanks for posting this in the correct place. I do not pretend to be a java or GoMule expert, but we can eliminate certain possibilities until someone with more java experience can come and help. I have never seen that exact error.

Where is the GoMule folder located? Did you extract all the files into the same folder? Does GoMule even give you a GUI (Graphical User Interface) window?

These are the most common mistakes I've seen happen. You are going to want to try extracting all the files onto your desktop into a new folder, preferably called GoMule or something like that. Once you are able to open GoMule look just above in my last help post for help using GoMule/ATMA with Win7/vista. Hopefully Oscuro can solve the reason GoMule cannot backup after gaining "full control"

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Extracting it may be my problem? Right clicking on the .exe file doesn't reveal an extract option while double clicking the .exe file accomplishes the above error. When I attempt to open up java it brings up a dialog box with several tabs, none of which include 'extract a file' or something of that nature. Thanks for the reply. It is appreciated.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I'm not sure what you mean by EXE? If you mean the jar file then that is not what I meant. Have you been able to open GoMule before? If not then when you downloaded the zip file from the main page: GoMule. Once it is downloaded open it and copy all the files in it over to a folder on your desktop. Then double click on the jar file. If you have used GoMule before then you might have had a problem when you updated java.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

It is working! Maybe a fresh set of eyes and some sleep and me not being an idiot was the key. Last night I moved the file to the desktop as opposed to copying it. Copying it made all the difference. This will make playing SP a lot more enjoyable as I'm a horder. Thank you very much.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I got RWM and so far i only made 3 runewords, or to be more specific 3 Spirit runewords, one in a sword, one in crappy pally shield and one in 35res all pally shield, all of them have exactly the same stats, 32%fcr and 90mana, is this just a coincidence or this mod has fixed values for runewords?

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Magic absorb is 6 on first two items, but it jumped to 7 for the good shield, at least i know that it didn't bug somehow, thanks for pointing out that magic absorb is random as well.

Need help with MP dll

Hey yall, I dont have an internet connection at home but I do have have the MP dll installed on my laptop. I can run multiple instances of the game but I cant access the TCP/IP screen as the game thinks I do not have network connectivity. Is there a way to simulate a network connection so I can run the MP dll?

Re: Need help with MP dll

Oh man..... Internal loop, or smthn to that extent.
Internal IP loop. It isn't that hard, but have to figure out exactly what to do. If I am able to find anything I'll update

You will need to install a "loopback adapter." Assuming you are running a Windows operating system, this video will provide you with all the instructions necessary to install and configure the default loopback adapter (Note: the instructions in the video are for Windows XP, but the steps are essentially the same for newer Windows operating systems). Once the loopback adapter is installed and configure, you should be able to connect multiple instances over TCP/IP via the 10.10.10.10 IP address as long as the loopback adapter is turned on, regardless of whether or not you are actually connected to the internet. I hope this helps.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

Anyone been in contact with Blizzard about this RWM? It seem like a really great mod, though I have not dared to try it out yet. But I'd love to know why they (Blizzard) don't allow this as in-game default for SP. Please enlighten me if anyone knows the answer to this.

I do not dare to try to get into the minds of Blizzard or any of its employees. However, I believe it is to encourage us to play on b.net where they can control the content. Look at Diablo III as an example.

The RWM is 100% safe as long as you do not try to go onto b.net with it. I cannot remember if the RWM is something that Blizzard will temp ban your keys for. I know they will if you use the multi-instance dll online. You will still be able to manually update with the download patches and play offline even if you get banned. However, if you ever plan on playing b.net as well keep a separate short-cut for b.net without the RWM code and you will be fine.

I'll do it then! Hopefully they'll include all the runewords in SP! :cloud9: Would be nice if they included the UBERS too?

[...] I believe it is to encourage us to play on b.net where they can control the content [...]

Why would they care all that much about control the content of their old Diablo II game when they do have Diablo III out with more control than most game devs could ask for? :)

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I am a horrible, horrible noob. Just spent nearly an hour dealing with my first install of GoMule. Error messages and functionality fails. Read the thread, found similar error messages reported. They all seemed to relate to admin rights issues in Fista and Win7 but I am running good old XP. What is going wrong?
Gave up, and at the point of giving up, the mist cleared. I re-extracted GoMule from the zip file, but made sure I ticked the "use folder name" option as it wasn't set by default. What a noob. When did I just simply stop using my brain?

Ask me what I do for a living. Go on. Ask.

Re: ATMA/GoMule/RWM etc - Help Thread

I cannot tell from your message so I have to ask to be sure. It is working now, right? If it is then I'm glad you got it working. If it is not then please provide the exact error message. It will help in finding a way to find what is wrong. Either way good luck with using GoMule. Please stop by with any questions you may have.
