Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

@Kitteh A comprehensive guide might be useful. Right now a lot of information is available fairly easily but I'm looking around and it's scattered. I'm trying to imagine what it's like for a new player. I'm also trying to remember how I got into AT running and learning about pits and things of that nature. It might be worth covering stuff like pitzerkers (could link to stuff like @Gripphon's zerker and his ideas on maps), common blizz sorcs in AT, top builds for running A85s in general. I think it's surprising that there isn't a more comprehensive guide to act on instead of the fragmented details that exist now all over the place. Might be really nice since running a85s is basically where it's at. Would certainly help new players.

Anyways, yes do it. What downside is there? It would be really helpful to have something like you described and I would read it. If you got the knowledge and the time I think it'd be worth the effort.
 
Not SPF related, but since this is the 'anything goes D2 lounge' and it was a milestone in my D2 career: I had my first DClone encounter yesterday, during our weekly group game with 4 other Basiners. We are playing HC, so the message 'Diablo is walking the Earth' was scaring the heck out of me. After bringing in some stronger characters, most notably a Vengeance Paladin with maxed block and resists ranging from 90 to 95, he was a pushover though ...
 
Did the Ubers once, but that must have been some 6 - 7 years ago, when the Basin still had a lot of casual games going on. It was exciting, but at the same time it wasn't, because my Sorc wasn't up to the task at all, but got carried by the others easily.

I still hope that both DClone and Ubers get enabled in SP at some point. Which reminds me: in 2 months time there is another ladder reset. Hopefully accompanied by patch 1.14e, which hopefully finally addresses some of the bugs and other issues. In case no one noticed ... yes, I'm a rather hopeful type of person ;).
 
Hey, I would love to team up with you and Kamap. Not sure why we couldn't play together. To me the SPF seems to be to SP what the AB is to multiplayer games, but I might be clueless to what you actually mean ... If it's something that shouldn't be mentioned here, feel free to pm me. Like I said, I would definitely like to team up with you and Kamap.
 
Finally with the latest patch D2 will run on my newish rig without crashing, which is awesome. Now, the question is should I bring over all my old characters and gear from my laptop, or just start from scratch? If I had my old characters it would just be MFing all the time for grailers, but starting over would be much more of a challenge. Just playing a Sorc up to level 12 reminds me of how much better D2 really is than D3. I hope if they do anything at all to it in the future it would be to add better stash options.
 
I was going to download the Runeword Mod but it is only up to 1.13c, and since I started over and patched the game from Bnet, I am at 1.14d. Will the RWM still work or did I screw up starting from 1.14d?

I searched around a little and found some other write ups that look very similar to how I remember RWM working, but it's been years ago that I installed it on my laptop. I would rather use the version from this forum as it's the one I used way back when, but it's got me a little worried because the game is running so well now and I don't want to chance screwing it up.

I wonder if there is a difference in having RWM already installed on and older version of D2 and upgrading to the latest patch vs installing RWM on a fresh version of 1.14d that it's never been installed on? Sorry for all the questions, but I am so excited to get started down the D2 path yet again and I don't want to screw anything up.

Hey everybody, I have returned to these forums and D2 after a long time! I am sure I don't really know many of you since I looked at everyone I used to talk to and most haven't been active for a while now... Recently just reinstalled the game and am kinda excited to get back into the swing of things. Just a few questions before I actually start playing. RWM/RRM still work with 1.14d? Also any bugs with Atma with newer versions?
 
Use GoMule for 1.10+. It is better.
RWM works fine on a PC, not available on Mac.

Thanks for the help guys. I will try it tonight and see how it goes. It is really hard not to get my stuff off my other computer and start twinking. It will be awhile before I really need RWM, but I have a ton of twink gear for sorcs and barbs I could use right now. Its not all bad starting from scratch though. I made a Leaf staff and will be just Fireballing along until I can start Forbing.

I might even try to get GoMule to work this time around, but I never did have any luck on my other computer. I just opened a game on another laptop and muled by LAN games just switching off gear and never had a single problem that way. Except, of course, losing some really good LK maps.
