Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

Is it horrible to say that I wrote that because I knew it'd inspire a reply?
Not at all.
you're so funny it's awesome.
I have this on my resume. They didn't really dig it at the funeral home, but they're just a bunch of stiffs.

I have area level information, and I know that packs are worth more exp, and have higher level than monsters in the same area (right?) but I've never really gotten the specifics down.
For areas the main thing to keep in mind is that Champions have +2 level compared to the area's level while Uniques and their minions (which are clearly labeled as "minion" in game) have +3 level, so for areas with a level of 85 (which are the interesting ones: Pits, AT, RoF, Chaos Sanctuary, Throne of Destruction, etc.) Champions are level 87 and uniques and their packs are level eighty-eight.

Honestly, this recent bout of playing I'm feeling like I know less and less about the game.
There's alot more to know than pretty much anyone could keep in their head. Personally almost all but the most basic of things I know are sort of indexed short thoughts so I can just search for the full information later ("Grip compared regular monsters vs uniques)" and that kind of thing, because trying to remember all the relevant stuff just gets it jumbled. It also really helps to bookmark anything that seems relevant.

I feel like there are items that I'm not picking up that I should be (pitzerker helm is a good example of items I didn't know I should be hunting for).
For the most part, following something like this is going to be just fine. For those very specific items like a pitzerker helm and the like, there's basically no chance you're going to actually find one; they're just too rare. I mean, think of it this way, pretty much any of those specialty items are rarer than a JMoD and we've seen ...3? 4? JMoDs in the history of the SPF. It's nice to know those items exist and be looking for them, but the chances of you finding one are nearly non-existent. And even then, in almost every one of those cases the improvement from one of those incredibly rare items compared to the more standard option is very, very small.

Isn't that the best part of this game? New build, feels great.
Pretty much, yeah. :)

Got this charm today ! It's a PnB skiller for necro WITH +27 to life. This is my 2nd PnB skiller. I would trade some resists for it if it was a summoning skiller. And another Cathan's Mesh... Still haven't found a elite light 3os armor for Bone RW. Made a Pit run, it gives nice exp still.

Might be hard to see on the pic but, boy do I love when the first part of act III turns into some huge spiraling maze.

That is disgusting. I have been leveling characters one after the other in a frenzied, free time induced d2 spree, and spider forest/great marsh are my least favorite maps on the entire game. I have hit terrible maps similar to that this week, I wish I had screenied them to compare.

So I'm shopping claws for my lightning trapper. I read the guide on shopping claws and I'm shopping them now. I was sort of wondering who here has done it before and what sort of length of time I should expect to be shopping them before I get a traps/LS claw that I need, or a +skill/LS claw. I think I have only done it about an hour now (haha), and I have a feeling that it takes far longer than that and I sort of want to know how long I should expect to be digging into this. I am getting this feeling that it's going to be a months or years long deal and that I will lose my mind doing it.

I stopped wearing keys. They take too much space which could be better used by a small charm. ;) I would get out the book of TP but there's no TP skill :P

Made Bone RW in mage plate. Finally, a little more power. Golem - nearly 13,5k life. With good items I have already got and found (Duriel's armor and Crown of Thieves), my merc is safer. 6% life leech at Hell (18% total). And I can spam more CE. Currently during another Diablo run. It's so damn slow and long...
