Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

My guess on this, and a total guess, is that if a council member casts hydra then dies, if you revive that council member then the hydras it spawned are no longer 'seen' by the game and therefore don't delay the next wave until they dissipate. Could be 100% wrong, so don't quote me on this.

Done some more testing yesterday and though it's often hard to tell who casts what, the above seems to be the case.

Ha, quoted you anyway ;)

Merc: eth Reapers toll ( shael ), eth upped guardian angel, Kira's guardian ( Ral). For the paladin, fanaticism makes it a breeze, being level 94 helps as well.

Been a while since anyone's really updated what they're doing here. But I still want to ><

Pindle is a stingy fellow. Been running him like a madman for the triathlon tourney and he's a jerk. I haven't been doing enough runs because I've been playing world of warcraft, but I'm back on overnights at work which means no internet and more time for d2. Tonight has been especially abysmal. I did manage to snag another andy's visage. I hate how boring even sort of good loot is getting now. I already have 5 andy's so finding another one really has lost the excitement. Only thing is checking to see whether it's eth or not, and it wasn't.

I got about 4 hours of good running left tonight. I'm up around 4k runs on my 10k goal (not this week, just for the elite runners thread). Dunno how much time I'll have to play d2 now that I'm playing WoW again :( It's a really nice switch though, going from that to this. The loot just really isn't exciting in the same way in WoW.

Blargh WoW :P

well i did my 2k Meph runs - made an overview about the items found in the elite runners thread (yeah i picked up every S/U)
now i will cube up all those gems - look how my grail and my perfect grail progressed with this and then start running AT

well i might be getting back to my three stage pala - and my zon that i have now parked for 3 month in A3 normal -.-

short question - whats the best set up for AT running anyways? (is an ormus with +blizz useful?)

My meteorb seemed to do pretty well in AT. The only thing I didn't decimate were the marauders (w/e they're called there) since they're FI. Are the mages CI or LI? I don't remember, I just know fireball was stupid. If the mages are LI then a pure blizz sorc seems like it would be the best option.

@ND Pindle has been *** with me too, my top 5 isnt going to be good at all, my number one will most likely be some eth treks... AT is usually better for me though so hope that turns out well!

@mr teach for AT (and everywhere else on my blizz sorc) i use full tals with spirit , chancies, nagels and assorted charms for extras, a skiller, gheeds, res, fhr, life charms, at level 90 i do well on all p/setting.
Some opt for a 3 piece tals but i find it kinda fragile, especially with occy, hate the ctc tele, killed me countless times.
Full tal is in no way optimal but its a safe and fast build IMO, good balance of mf, kill speed and safety, plus you have a shiny golden glow which lets face it is awesomez!

What's the general consensus for a gear setup for an AT pureblizz sorcy? Is tals a decent option because of decent mf/survivability or is there a better way to go? The normal setup just doesn't have any resists. I guess, how important are resists for AT runs? Occy seems like its right out of the question because of random tele.

I would hazard a guess that kill speed isn't really an issue with pure blizz, since those spikes hit like a truck even without much +skills or +cold damage. And 105 cast is important I'm guessing because of obvious run speed.

How about-

Tals
spirit monarch
nagle
nagle
chancies
wartravs

Hrm. That's only 85% cast even with perf spirit. So sub magefist for chancies? Dag. That seems like really low MF that way.

Thats the exact setup i run ND, except the war travs are a rare dual res mf boot in my case, socketed the tal armor and mask with a ptopaz and when i get a 2-2-2 tal orb thats gunna get an ist popped in it.

I enjoy the build, its powerful enough to handle p/8 easy enough

There was a thread about that recently where full Tal's was compared to 3 pieces Tal's and Fathom. The latter won I think.

i know that 3 tals with a fantom and a facet is way better - but i don't have a fantom so i will run with full tals until i get that

Been a while since anyone's really updated what they're doing here.

After making a Grief PB with cubed runes from LK I gave it to my Zealot who's back at Trav, but very little to show for it so far. I'm also going to try it on my Barb but that will require a respec from Axe to Sword mastery and making another Oath for offhand.

Next on the wish list is Ohm for CtA and another Lo for Fortitude. I'd really rather stay in Trav than hit up LK again, but recently the latter has been more generous.

Tal's is pretty good actually. The +cold damage is basically the same as the lowest roll DF, and full tal's maxes out your resists without too much thinking about it. Yes resists are not actually 'needed' if you play smart, but there's always random CE/LE/FE nuisance and poison from corpses so I like max res. It also gives huge hp and mana boost so you can fill your inventory with a bunch of 7 mf small charms.

on the topic of small charms - what ilvl should they have if i want to reroll them to 5@res 7mf charms or 5@res 20hp charms?

also for AT what would be the best merc setup?

I don't have full Tal's or DF, so I run with really bad gear and I notice that I dont do enough damage (I had a fathom and full Tal's earlier, so I know how that feels) for the run times to be acceptable. I'll get there eventually i guess. ;)

shimmering is alvl 33, of good luck/vita are both alvl 47, so small charms (qlvl 28) need to be ilvl 61 (alvl 47 + ½qlvl [14])
