Having gotten tired of runs, I decided to 'quest up' a bit, even though my character completed mat a while ago. Played from the flayer jungle waypoint to Travincal on p7, great fun.

Fun fact 1: If you revisit the boxes containing Khalim's heart/etc, they will still drop, but you can't pick them up.

Fun fact 2: With a 5 range weapon, you can kill bone dolls without being in range of their death explosion, though this is admittedly hard to do.

Fun fact 3: If you have enough lifeleech, you can just kill the bone dolls anyway and leech yourself from them, specially effective when they are mixed in with other leechable monsters.

Fun fact 4: With a 5 range weapon, you can attack monsters from across the narrow gap in the sewers, though you have to get the angle just right.

Finally, an interesting drop. It has all the colors in it. Ie white, green, gold, etc. Except crafted items I suppose

LOL, I thought I needed 86%FRC for my novamancer to get to the next breakpoint so I went on a crafting spree yesterday, turns out I only need 75, exactly what I already had. 86 is in Vampire mode

I posted this in the IFT, but I thought it might be better here. Currently messing around with this on my frenzy barb. Maxed frenzy + sword mastery + might from merc puts the top end just under 4.5k!

I used Oath+Grief on my WW trav barb, very effective. I was into trading at the time and made mine in an Eth 1.07 base for an extra 50% eth bonus.

I'd say certainly worth using, although I'm not sure you'd be able to find a buyer. AR is useless for most builds that would make use of the mana, so really you're looking at a decent caster ring with a useless stat, or a decent melee ring with two "useless" stats. The MF + @ is really nice though

@Twibz - I wish I had a 40/15! For now I'll probably drop a shael in it, since it's better than really any weapon I'll get unless I make a nice RW, which is a ways off. It definitely needs to be faster though. Maybe shael it and switch to a treachery for my armor

@bob - I have the runes for oath, so I'd like to make one out of a sword. Is ebalrog blade the best base? Or would maybe a cryptic sword be better? I've never made use of melee runewords before.

Daaang that weapon has some nasty high rolls. Where you runnin nowadays daz? I'm starting up doing some AT runs for the pindlecowATthon.

I got a question. Is there a guide to AT anywhere? Do bosspacks always spawn in approximately the same area? How much MF should I be shooting for for AT?

Current gear setup is:

Tals belt armor ammy
HotO
Spirit Monarch
50% Wartravs (just had to brag bout these)
Chancies
Nagle
FCR/resist/10%mf ring
Shako

CtA/Spirit on weap switch


With this setup I'm sitting at a very nasty 467% MF, 105% FCR, and ... ... decent resists. Around 40-50 average in all areas with charms. Lightning maxed.


I don't have dfathom so that's not an option. Occy is annoying to run with, otherwise I'd be doing that for extra mf, but the HotO really is just rounding out my build as far as hitting 105 fcr and resists. I could run full tals for safety but then I'd be sacrificing some mf so I dunno if I wanna do that. Suggestions?

I'm runnin around in circles waiting for you to get a mic! I jest I've been doing a combination of cows/cs runs with 0mf looking for a 3os phase blade, so I can make a tesladin with crescent moon. No luck yet :banghead: but one cow did drop a sur! It was either baal or Shenk that dropped that sword, and I was picking it up to vendor for 35k (I was hurting on gold haha), but when I ID'd it I about fainted. I've never seen ED that high on a rare, and paired with other good stats! So I tossed it on the barb, although I haven't actually used the thing yet.

ND: Full Tal's for sure. Hoto is pointless. Ist the orb ( or mf jewel of about 10% easy to get ), ptopaz the mask. You will need magefist to hit 105 fcr, but can substitute rings for nagels. Tal's give huge boost to life, mana, resists, so pretty much you can stack your inventory with 6-7% mf charms.

Dalizare: Sorry to be a wet blanket, but that sword isn't any good. If it had eth and self repair, maybe. Right now it's still worse than any roll on 'oath'.

Zaph: I know hahah, but it's better than most uniques until I get runes for grief and/or a base for oath I doubt I'll use a socket in it, but we'll see.

and yeah i am running AT with full tals as well - need to roll a better spirit mine sucks
and punch holes in my perfect Tals Set (i don't have an Ist yet - but a nice +9mf rare jewel with other useful stats)

but AT has been rather stingy with anything good - only thing i got was griswolds redemption

btw is there a secret trick to getting more S/U - does the char doing the MF have to be Pat/Mat/Guardian?

No secret trick, just stack more mf i suppose... more goodies drop on higher p/settings so theres more chance of them generating as s/u but as far as im aware then no. No secret ways.

And i cant see why pat/mat would be better than champ for drops

If you make Pat/Mat, you can run Baal. That's about it, really. I always take my characters to Pat/Mat because otherwise it feels like an 'incomplete' character.

i don't want to Mat my sorc yet because i want to save the ancients
