Anything Goes D2 Lounge!

Quick question. How many points in RS before pushing SM for a Fishy. Last I played one was in 2003 and I can't seem to find a working link to the guide. Please help. :)

I normally just put one in SM after about 5 hard points in RS. Leave it that way until maxed (as the nighfish's guide says so). I look for a +3 SM wand and head (or +2 or 1) and use that to raise my friends most of the time. Get 1 point in CE also before 20 RS. /p1 the maggot lair. 1 point gumpy somewhere also. Decrip at 24 for duiry. About it!

+SM equipment are your friends.
 
Hmmm. I just noticed I managed to mix up RS and SM in my question. It should have been "how many poins in SM before pushing RS". That you guys answered niecely. Thank you very much! I have SM at 4 now and will leave it there. Got a nice head with +3 SM. I intend to play that guy mostly untwinked (an Insight for the merc and a Homunculous will go his way though). :)
 
I am in a great mood. My baal running sorcy is getting a whole lot less sloppy now. She is up to 5 lightning skill charms and I rolled a CoH dusk shroud with the finding of a second sur rune. My merc is doing well with an ebugged wirefleece treachery, and is able to survive finally. My run times are like 4 minutes (or more if it goes poorly)!! It's really tough and sloppy still though, I drink quite a few potions, but it's getting better all the time. The poison is what is effing me up now on the second wave. I'll just have to keep some antidote potions I think... My resists are all maxed with HotO, but I still need to work eschutas into my build. Without hoto I am still too unsafe to pull it off.

Having fun though! I'm on my way!

running Meph is kinda fun - but i think i will not open the superchest any more - it eats like 3 secs or so and my runs are slow enough already - but i am not sure - i will ee tomorrow - i did my 200 runs i wanted to do today and will see how many i do tomorrow

but Meph is kind to me and drops loads of stuff i need for my grail - just not the stuff that i really want

just mat'd my zon and got a cham in the throne room literally in the doorway, check it out in the IFT if you wish, im well chuffed!

also got a shako off baal himself so not too shabby :')

This is all with infinity? My plan is to baal run once I get mine, but I kinda just assumed it would be super easy like it is on my infinity javazon haha, am I delusional?
 
Does the Shadow Master Cloak of Shadows still crash the Ancients?

She's at level 29 and 1/2way to picking up her shadow master. Notable finds in Act III before Kurast Baazar: Arctic Mitts.
 
A few weeks ago, I discovered a Sur in the LK Madness, and began sifting through runewords to see if there may be a cool new build in my future. Back in my B.net days like 6 years ago, I once found an Ohm and Death's Fathom, so I had a taste of wealth and what it is like being able to have a top-end, geared out character. Well, this Sur got thoughts rolling, especially after I noticed "Bramble" to make a Poison Nova/CE Necro to do mad damage in the Pits and because I have ALWAYS wanted to make a Poison Nova build. After seeing that DWeb, Trang gloves, and Bramble add lots o' percent damage, I started getting excited. Well I seem to have slightly shattered my dream when I saw some random link in the IFT about a 1.10s and the beta CTA. There was a link there, and behold, Bramble used to be much different as well....like insanely-high-%-poison-damage-different. Now, what all might I have to do to get engaged in this time travel business and start up a character in 1.10s (and where might I find that?). It will stink makign a build and trying to somehow manage to find another Sur rune, but I'll likely make another Blizzy and Fishymancer and just enjoy playing D2 in stuff like Pits/AT and hope someday it happens.

Does this all seem like a ridiculous amount of work in order to make a Bramble and time-travel it to the future for some 1.13 Poison Nova/CE build with Possibly ~+300% to poison skill damage??? Yeah I guess, but we're all some greater-than-normal degree of crazy in the SPF, right? Does this sound like it will actually work out like I've been day-dreaming it might?

*Oh and by the way, I haven't played D2 in like 5 days and I'm in full-on crave mode. Systems engage!!! I love you guys and this place....enabling this sick passion of mine to mutate for years to come. :D

You are correct about how that would work, and also about the "ridiculous" amount of effort involved...runes are hard to get, pre-1.13, and Bramble takes Sur and Ohm (so you're talking about the equivalent to 5(!) beta CTA's...now that's some wealth!!!) Check out the trade forum, there is a current thread offering a 1.07 Lo rune (almost certain to become half a Sur in a beta Bramble)...current bid is Infinity in a 1.07eth thresher + Grief + Griffon's + extra!!!

That said, if you got a good roll on the beta Bramble, you'd have the most godly Novamancer/Daggermancer/RabiesWolf item possible!! I would certainly encourage you to do so, but wanted to point out just how 'expensive' that goal is...

Haha, luckily I really don't see any other video games in my future and for some reason can't leave this one. So I've got a few years. I just wanted to make sure my plan would actually be possible considering the rare instance that the ridiculous impossibilities needed to try for it. ;) SPF for you though, right? Might have to start researching 1.10s info...this could be epic.

I wouldn't keep any of them, but that's just me haha. MAYBE that barb circlet if I didn't have a rare rage helm/arreat's. The amulet is required lvl 87, and it's typically easier to find something better. Use it if you don't have anything better, but without fcr there are better options. If it had +20 str on the other hand.....^.^
 
Meh I'm SP on Realms now
I'm still just signing in and keeping my 7 accounts full alive.

Pick up blues and id them or shop mostly as I have Everything pretty much, (Clan did a Grail at one point) I'm the only member left playing and a co-founder of Clan BW (AKA BloodyWorld) on US_West.

Unless Kevin/Spock is still playing
