Amazon/Kuko Weirdness

Howdy - know you're all focused on the new patch but if someone could offer me some insight into a problem I'm having I'd be grateful. My lvl33 strafer just equipped the Kuko bow and the Kuko's explosive arrows either are not working or the animation is missing in action. This is my first try at an Amazon so I may be missing something obvious. Thanks for reading.

Are you using any skills?

In order to trigger the explosive arrows, you have to be using normal shot.

Thanks for the quick, if disappointing, reply. I was gonna strafe with explosive arrow damage - foolish me.
